40K Help please: Dark Angels 2 years on...

Hi all. Been a couple of years out of the game...

Just remembering the peace and satisfaction i used to get fromt he 40K universe and was wondering about the following as the landscape for DA seems to have changed a little:

1) What happened to the Old Ravenwing Master - is it discontinued as I can't seem to find it anywhere now? If not avaialble are all the constituent bits still avaialble in the form of this new Ravenwing sprue?

2) Where has Sergeant Naaman gone? I never got round to getting him.

3) Ive seen pics of a Chapter Mater with a hood and a skyward pointing plasma weapon? I cant seem to find him neither?

As for no.s 1 & 2, the old Master of the Ravenwing has been killed off and a new one, named Sammael, made. As standard he comes on a jetbike - one of my favourite models, personally - but he can also be fielded in a landspeeder. The bitz to do this come in the Ravenwing Biker box, or in the Ravenwing battleforce, since it contains two of them. Needless to say, if you only buy the biker box, the speeder itself isn't included...

Naaman is gone. He has been nuked, and only gets a single mention in the 'new' Codex. Might wanna check out eBay if you've got your heart set on him.

Thanks Tutankhankh. That really clears that up - Ive seen that Chapter Master on ebay today also and hes about £50.00! Wow.

Love all the new bits on Ravenwing and Veteren sprues Ive just bought - really opens up the chapter to customising.

On that note, what kind of stuff is in the veterans box? Is there, like, terminator bitz I can use with a plastic termie kit to make proper Deathwings out of the little girls?

Lol - Who are you calling little girls. I've started using the kits and yes they do add that Dark Angel spice to normal robed models. But the veteran sprues as with the extra Deathwing bits are not as dynamic as they should be to my mind. Compared to waht Ive seen on the new Space Hulk minis they look dated already.

There is a nice Deathwing shield and extra feathery bits, but nothing that resonates with the original Deathwing ethos resoundingly to my mind.

I'm calling non-Deathwing terminators little girls. Actually, it applies to all non-DA SMs, but particularly the terminators just can't measure up.

Has it seriously been two years! I think of that codex as being new. Mind you vanilla marines is over a year old now.
