Thread: What Army?

    What Army?

Well I just cant choose what fantasy army to get! I want a small army that consists of elite infantry, but you just dont get that in Fantasy. I am going to play doubles with a TK army *my dad's* and I want a race that can couple with them easilyy and function well. I would rather stay away from Chaos races as well.. most of the time they tend to be these sick psychos with stupid saves, abilities and whatnot that blow stuff up.

What army outside of Ogres and Chaos has the ability to field smaller elite units? Or maybe even a list of what the race of the Warhammer World are good at (i.e Space marines being good all rounders, but in fantasy style).

Try out Vampire Counts, don't get the horde of zombies. Go for Blood Knights and wights.

You'll probably get some good advice if you post this in the official new fantasy army thread

Most armies have their own elite infantry units. Have a look at the various elf armies. Particularly the High Elves, since they have three solid elite infantry choices (Swordmasters, White Lions and Phoenix Guard), they are required to take fewer core units than other armies and are allowed more special and rare.

Dark Elves and Dwarfs also both have a few elite infantry units. Or you could consider Lizardmen, where even the core infantry are elite by many standards. They don't have many different kinds of infantry though.
    Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.

Take a stab at the High Elves. I've just started Fantasy myself and already I've fallen in love with them. Always Strike First rocks! You don't need as much core troops as the other armies and can select more elites than the others as well. And I must say their elites are quite good.

Well I would have decided on army, if only they did a battalion for them! Anyone know if they ever will make a Daemons Battalion? Or will I have to buy squads bit by bit?
