I remember back when they released WFB 7th edition GW said they where going to sell archived figures and the selection would change every mount and the models where only available that mount. Well all they ever had up where the old forest goblin rang and it never got updated. This makes me think if you could request a rang of archived models what would you want?
I know with out a second thought I would love to get my hands on some more Chaos Dwarfs I've got a about 3000pts but they are so hard to get for a good price now it makes me cry
Hmm... The Chaos Space Marines from 2nd ed. are really cool (Noise Marines... mmm...), and Chaos had a lot of characterful models back then. Some of the old Chaos-models for Fantasy would be awesome as well.
I don't think I really miss any models - I play Marines and High Elf armies, and imo the newer models easily surpass the old ones.
For me it's more about missing the old game like Necromunda, Blood Bowl and Mordheim.
Go to GW's website, download the rules, play and enjoy! Saying that BB or Necromunda is dead is like saying that the sky is green... (*DMC played a game of Necromunda last Tuesday and he knows BB is even more alive now than it was 10 years ago*)
Yeah sure I can still buy the models and download the rules - that's not the same as them being 'active' games. I would like to buy another Necromunda box set for more terrain, but finding one in good condition that isn't overpriced is tricky at best.
I miss the hell out of my old harlies, and would love to get my hands on some mark1 marines ...
Slaanesh, god of the beer goggles
I always loved the old Squat Adeptus Mechanicus model (you can see it here). Also, all of the old Ork Runts, Squigs, and, especially, the Freebooterz are great.
Have a real soft spot for the old Dark Elf Blood Bowl team too.
Not really a range as such, but I think I used to prefer the old Chaos Raptors to the ones they have now.
It's possibly because I saw them in a battle report in White Dwarf when I was just getting in to the hobby which featured the Night Lords. Night Lord Old-style Raptors looked pretty awesome to me, although I'm quite possibly in the minority in thinking that.
I like the old razorbacks, with the open back turret. I found a guy who was selling it but he wanted almost twice the cost of a normal razor and i refused to pay that much. He's been trying to sell it for over a year, and my marine army has moved on, still though i'd love to have one of those old razors...

For me, it's all about the genestealer cult. Hybrid genestealers were awesome, and I only have a handful. I've got a bunch of the plastic ones from one of the expansions to the first edition of spacehulk, but the old spacehulk plastics were pretty weak. Metal hybrids are where it's at.
You can use ig plastics and genestealer plastics to kitbash hybrids, but it's not the same. The fluff for hybrids is that their DNA has been modified, and that doesn't manifest as a head swap, or a human with an extra clawed limb or two. Rather, the hybrid face has to look like a cross between a human and a stealer.
I keep waiting for gw to rerelease this army, especially since they've redone spacehulk and there's a new nid codex on the way, but I know it will never happen. I have to content with the genestealer cult figs I have.
