I resently got into the game and am having a hard time deciding what I should play as.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
I like a balance of both shooty and melee and i like to throw some magic/psionics in there too.
I like to be able to suprise the enemy.
My friend plays necrons and i dont really know what is good and whats not against them.
Chaos. If you like evil looking people that is.
A regular chaos army you can get a chaos lord/lieutenant with some psychic gifts. Just about every unit is balanced in melee and shooting. Heavy weapons squads can provide you access to shootier weapons. Demons can be deepstriked or called in from the warp on the table for that little surprise your opponent wasn't expecting.
Aganist necrons a good powerweapon equipped squad of possesed can rip up quite a hole. Take a look in the Chaos codex. Also orks could be a decent choice for you if you like to collect bigger amounts of models. They excel in close combat, a weakness in necrons. So take a gander at both races.
For if one gave, he dared assert
He knew that man was repentant
For many a man is so hard of heart
He cannot weep even though he suffers sorely
Necron are very good at shooting asWarped314 said, and I would go with tyranids. They are amazing at cc, and have very nice models! Tyranids are usually better than orks at cc. If you want a balanced army I would go with SMurfs. <_< But personally I think them because too many players play Space Marines so I would try to avoid them. Tyranids also have a new campaign coming up.
You call those cheap implants boobs?
They aren't boobs, they're lies!
If you want Dark Eldar, PM me.
If your best friend said DE sucked, PM me.
I will not go on here, too much of these threads.
