Hi all, as the title implies I might be getting a job with GW. Yes I know there is a lot of hate for some redshirts, but who doesn't want to get paid to paint models and play games and get people excited about their hobby?
Any who, if there are any staffers around or people who have gone to a recruitment day any tips on what goes on those days and what is expected would be nice.
Thanks in advance
Another non-redshirt hater here, i've always found them to be helpful and pleasant.
I've never worked for GW, and I don't know anyone who does but just wanted to wish you good luck- its important to enjoy your work and i've no doubt you'd enjoy working as a redshirt! I always found any retail work I did very difficult (I dont like standing up all day!) but then again I never got to paint, or just chew the fat with customers like you can in a GW store. Seems fun!

It has it's ups and downs, but most of it depends on your manager. Some of them are hell to work for, others a joy. Much like most jobs but with the added disadvanage of if you burn out of the company you tend to quit playing too.
Not to put you off or anything! I'm sure you'll love it. Do staff still get a decent discount? You used to be able to buy metal for practically cost to come out of your wages. One bloke spent his entire final pay packet on 4 massive boxes full of metal. 4 complete armies...
We who have seen war will never stop seeing it....In the silence of the night, we will always hear the screams....
GW staff get a 50% discount. You're also expected to know about ALL the armies, tricks and tips that are helpful to new players of ALL armies and need to familiarise yourself with each codex before release to ensure you can advise customers by release day.
