As we all know, the gods of warhammer (the hobby not the ACTUAL gods in the games) are cruel, and are forever taking- sometimes time, usually money. Once in a while, however, they smile on us...
About an hour ago one of my mates rang to see if I wanted his old Warhammer stuff- now we used to play back in the first year of secondary school, circa 1991 but after a few years he stopped playing and has lost most of his collection. Of course I jumped into the car and put pedal to metal to get there!
So now I am the proud owner of a second set of heroquest, Advanced heroquest and a plethora of old and OOP minis! Sure they may look crude and old fashioned to those used to the shiny stuff GW produces nowadays but for those of you longbeards who remember the days of Rogue trader and early Warhammer editions I thought you'd get a kick out of the stuff I just picked up.
Amongst the things I may actually use are 20 odd worth of Sprues of the old 'Space Orcs' plastic set- so my project thread will probably show you the fruits of my labours in breathing life into those old Minis at some point. What got me most excited though were the old 1980s era metal minis- mostly Undead and Skaven
Some mixed Undead minis
A Grendel-esque troll and some Dwarfs- including one who appears to be unbuttoning his fly!
And best of the lot- 15 Zombies!! very characterful and full of the humour Citadel minis used to be famous for.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the pics and can share in my joy of actually getting something in this hobby for free!
PLAN CLAN MAN!!
He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man- S. Johnson
Awesome!! Can't wait to see some of them painted up.
