If this picture had your miniature/s, a background of your choice, was printed on professional photo paper and framed or made into a desktop wallpaper or any other application for a picture, would you pay for it? If not why not?
Keep in mind that the picture is just a draft example of what can be done. I am aware that the lighting is incorrect and other discrepancies. There are many other examples of how a miniature could be implemented into a picture, but i just want to gauge reaction on the concept to see if there is a market for such a thing.
Wouldn't GW be offended that someone is using their mini to make money? I'd look into that first.
Personally, I like that background more than the implementation of the chaplain. He looks as though he's been photo-shopped into the pic. I know that you're aware, but it's like me taking unfinished work to a gallery and asking if they are interested in showing it with me telling them I still need to do this and this and this.....
What I am saying is, show your finished idea, that way people can judge it fairly.

I'd only pay for the paper myself. I have and use photoshop and pictures such as that take mere minutes to compose, if a few hours to improve.
Why would I pay for a picture of my own miniatures anyway? I can just look at them...
Fantasy: Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Beastmen and Tomb Kings.
LotR: Misty Mountains and Rohan
I think i like the background more without a mini blockng view :p Nice sunlight it gives an otherworldly effect

Something like that will break GW Legal copyright rules. Officially the model and the picture (if made by GW) fit under their IP (Intellectual Property) and therefore it is theirs. This means you can't benifit commercially from it.
The full Legal document can be found here: Clicky!
For clarification, the picture will pass if it is not created by GW. However, the minature is technically part of GW IP, so commercially benifiting from it would not be OK.
In order to be allowed to do this, you must either do it as fan material and not commercially benifit from it (which would still annoy GW and get them involved legally), or buy a license to use their IP for your own means (which most likely will get denied). You should contact GW for more information and enquiries. GW tends to be quite tough when dealing with protecting their IP, and every forum (including this one) tends to get warnings from them once every year or two. I remember this forum got a warning last year to take the Double Headed Aquilla (a historical symbol that they use now) off the LO Logo...
Have a nice day,
