Personally i think that an IG armoured column is the harest thing in 40k as
1) Only anti tank or super strong troops can hit them
2)They can take on anything that the enemy can throw at them
3) And finally they squish puny xenos like tyranids and lost and the damned.
Although i wld say that when i c an opponent setting up Tyranids or necrons it does make me nervous anyway wats ur opinion

I'd have to say that the hardest army is A.

I would say IG is the hardest race to beat(but only if they have the right close combat units) i'll tell you an unbeatable team when i ally my artillary with my friend's greyknights.

Although every army is balanced in my point of view playing against necrons can be nasty as because of their be back rule you cannot make plans to many turns in advance as you do not have a clear idea how many models there will be on the table next turn...

I vote armoured column as no army has enough anti-tank weapons, monstrous creatures and rending claws to devestate an armoured column quickly other than other armoured columns!! Tyranids might get a monstrous creature or a pack of genestealers through and necrons could destroy a few weapons and cause a few immobilisations though.
But can anything really resist several lascannon shots, multiple heavy bolter rounds, autocannon shots and the more ordnance than any other army unloaded at them every turn?
