Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi you guys, I'm not sure that this thread really belongs here but I couldn't think of anywhere else to put it, so here goes.
i have been thinking about using some warmachine models to make a unique 40k force.
i have not really looked at the warmachine models but before I d i would like to see if it is a viable option. what i really want them for is to add to my (2000 point) ork army so i an use them as a bit of an extra and to make my army unique.
i have a coupe of questions.
1)Are they the right scale, as i want to know if they will fit with my existing army?
2) will any of the models actually fit with my orks or will i have to start a new amy to us them.
3) if so which ones are good.
they are the right scale but the Warjacks are far too sleek to be Orky in my opinion.
Well, it really does depend on what models you look in to, I guess. Some of the Diving-Suit-Style Mercenary Jacks (Mariner, Freebooter) might work pretty well as a base for conversions. Or perhaps some of the Khador heavies. You might even be able to find some Trollblood models you can use to represent Orks!
Anyway, with your questions;
1 - Yes, they're more or less an appropriate scale. I say more or less because Warmachine/Hordes models tend to have a slightly more realistic scale than 40K. Models like the afore-mentioned trolls that are meant to be bigger than people are bigger than people. And some of the people models can be quite small - but that probably won't bother you as you're not really after people models!
2 - Seeing as Orks can loot anything, yes, they'll fit! I mean I've mentioned a few earlier in this post that I thought might work, but it's up to you as to what you want to use and if you think it will fit.
3 - Again, highly subjective. Some warjacks might work as killer kans or dreadnoughts or something, a few trollblood models might work although they'll clearly stand out as different from Orks...
Best bet would be to hop over to the Privateer Press website and check out the Warmachine and Hordes galleries, and see if there's anything there that takes your fancy...
