I am definitely going this year, since i couldn't last year due to a lack of everything to get the army done up . Anyone else going? Also, do we pay at a local store, because i can't seem to find the purchase button on the store's website.
And i wonder if we will be allowed to post what we are thinking of bringing, like ' i am going to bring a nob biker list or a drop pod list etc or even post a rough guide of the list. As long we don't talk points or in depth list debating
Just checking... do you already have your ticket antique? Because the 40k tickets sold out in hours... a long time ago
Personally i dont like the new soft score system. a vote for whichever army you liked the most? And then that gets extra points? Thats all well and good, but how do you decide which is best? Its also slightly (IMHO) in favor of the awsome painters and converters out there. Think about it, if youve had two awsome games with great opponenets, but one has a beautiful army, the others is decent but nothing remarkable, who would you give the vote to?
And then something about beating the avearge for your army? Again this doesnt seem exactly fair. Supposing the other players of a particular race (lets say eldar) do really really badly and score very low. One eldar player does well, doesnt win every game but gets a decent score. He then gains a huge advantage because the other generals did badly. If the situation was extreme enough, he could beat someone who scored a collosal amount of points, but played an army with a high average.
The reverse is also true, Guard are very popular and competitve at the moment, if a lot of guard players do well, they have no hope of winning because the average is so high!

Tournaments prove generally who has 1)an optimised list, 2) money to buy and paint said optimised list and 3) who is better than the others with 1) & 2). You could be a better player but may not have 1) and 2)...
I personally wonder if a game where you have 1HQ, 1 Elite, 2 troop minimum and 1HS 1FA at 1500 points might actually work. There couldnt be cheese it would be a more tactical game...
The sold out tickets really annoyed me, especially when i spent 40 minutes trying to get to the office. The new system sounds like it cares less for tactical players and more on well rounded hobby players. If anyone can find or does see spare throne of skulls 40k tickets! Please pm me asap!
