Welcome to Librarium Online!
So, last night I decided my luck with D6 rolls were such absolute rubbish that I have no recourse but to seek alternatives. Even electronic D6's don't agree with me, and seem to roll perfectly wrong for what I need them to do. I'm finally fed up with rolling piles of 1's where I need anything but, and having to include commissars in my IG squads just to get them to pass leadership checks for orders.
So! Let's try to accomplish the impossible and take rolling D6's out of playing 40k!
The quick solution I had in mind was rolling d8's to see if they worked any better, and simply rerolling any results of 7 or 8 until I get anything between 1 and 6.
This is possibly the most stupid thing I've heard in my life. You're doing nothing at all except making games longer and more tedious by doing this.
Of course it's stupid! But I don't think you understand how phenominally BAD my rolls are. We're talking the kind of stuff for which people suggest I submit myself to scientists to study statistical anomalies. The kind of stuff that makes the game darn near unplayable, that makes you nervous when you have to roll morale checks at Ld 10 or move over difficult terrain while using dozer blades. The kind of thing where people literally tell you to start being superstitious in the hopes of getting better rolls and a more worthwhile game.
Since we're on to the superstitious level, and the my luck seems universally unfavorable with d6's altogether, I'm considering finding out a way to 'proxy' them. Maybe someone makes d12's that only have 1 through 6 on them?

Or perhaps your really only seeing all the ones, and your rolling is actually average, just seems bad
Heck, I might even consider switching to a less luck-oriented game if I didn't already like this one so much and invested so much time in my models (I even have a titan I still need to post pics of. >> ). But the dice just hate me too much to be usable.

We all get games where things go hilariously bad or good. I remember one game of Warhammer (7th) when in my first turn I cast three spells with irresistible force, two of which were triple six! Or there was the time when I inflicted 6 hits with a spell, needed 2+ to wound and rolled six ones.
Or there was the 40k game where my Seer Council made 35 out of 36 rerollable 4+ invulnerable saves in one shooting phase, much to my (Alaitoc) opponent's consternation.
Buy some new D6s, nothing fancy...just some plain coloured dice. We all do that once in a while...right now I'm finally getting a reasonable number of Killing Blows...
(Fewer IF/miscasts, but those I get are the really bad ones...)
