I read both stories about the War of the beard in both the Dwarf and the High Elf army books and I was just wondering wich one to believe?
tnks in advance.
I think that the high elves have a more truthful point of view. The dwarf caravan or whatever was attacked by dark elves, but the dwarves though it was high elves, and that's false right there.
Oi you bloody Grobi/elgi git!! The elves we in the wrong, bloody elves....
Ok, truthfully neither side won. Both got drawn into a needless war by the backstabbing Druchii, the DE used this to weaken the defence of Ulthuan ready for their invasion.
But both races should never had gotten drawn into it, if the elgi had not decided to shave the ambassador's beard off then we would never have retaliated. It was the biggest insult you can give a dwarf, and a moronic thing to do (well they were elves...).
So niether side won, both were weakened and had problems at home. The druchii invaded the Asur while the earthquakes in the World Edge Mountains gave rise to lots of gobbo and skaven raids on the dwarven realm, thus ended in the loss of many great holds.
Do you honestly expect a dwarf to see any difference between an elf in bedsheets and an elf in latex? They're bloody elves!
The war of the beard signalle the dusk of the dwarves and elven races, the great empires disintegrated into small fiefdoms and holds. The dwarven war machine (slow but effective) had destroyed all the elven cities on the old world continent, the major brettonian cities are today built upon these ruins.
Now, I seem to remember wood elves fitting into this somewhere.
Were they high elves who fled from the dwarves into the deep forests, or high elves that refused to retreat from the old world, what were they? The end of the war of the beard is when wood elves were "created" right?
Otherwise I'm competely off track.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel allright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace, and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
Goblin kroozade of revengyness: win:19 draw:10 loss:9
The second one is correct, the WE were high elves who's love for trees (the hippy gits..) meant they didn't want to abandon them. So when the HEs left the shores of the Old World these few elves remained in the wood.
true the WE where HE that went hippy when the others left the old world
Yes people i know that my spelling and punctuation is awful but I am product of British teaching pollicies so what can I do about it?
