TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT:
1. There are many different "recipes" for Resin.
2. Resin takes many different forms (both liquid, bendy, soft and Hardened) - in fact many things we think are made of rubber or plastic are in fact Resins.
3. Certain industrial resin types are carcinogenic.
4. The Resins used by Forgeworld / Citdel Finecast are NOT carcinogenic AT ALL (but may worsen pre-existing lung conditions if breathed-in in LARGE amounts.
5. There is NO MEDICAL EVIDENCE of resin used by Forgeworld/Citadel being any more dangerous than pre-existing production materials.

Plus - the materials supply chain is where I make my living. GW and many others wouldn't be using this type of stuff if it was dodgy. They've spent a LOT of money on the "switch-over" and this issue would have been covered a very long time back....
Also i dont really think that your family will starve even if people here start taking to heart what those rocketscientists say.
I think you just paniked for no reason.
Praise be to the Emperor!!
I can defenetly say Resin with the oily coat from FW is NOT dangerous (atleast not as in BE CAREFULL POISON'ish), my gf was idleing after takeing a break from painting my An'ggrath, only to realize she had his whip in her mouth for 5minutes (and it was not cleaned or scrubbed), we called the poison hotline, and they said it has to be much much larger amounts to cause a reaction, or exposure to loungs over long peroids. Her tounge was alittle irritated tho. Thats it.
Lesson learned, miniatures are not lollypops.
I'm not panicking - I'm just getting a bit cheesed off with people mouthing off about things being cancer-causing, when in reality they don't have a clue what they're on about.
Pisses me off - and it's getting boring.
The rocket science thing was not aimed in your direction. Please don't take my comments personally
No my family won't starve, but people don't realise the effects uninformed comments can have on a wider scale sometimes.
And trust GW? On this - yes. On most other things no. The reason I say that is that European Laws governing the use of toxic materials are pretty damned harsh and as a PLC, I can assure you that they have spent an awful lot of much researching this - I know nothing is ever knwon 100%, but they're secure in the knowledge that they've investigated it well enough. I've been talking to someone this afternoon about it.
The investment they've made is really quite impressive. They wouldn't risk folding due to corporate manslaughter charges 10 years down the road, and they wouldn't have sepnt the kind of outlay I've heard about if this stuff wasn't tested sideways, inside out and backwards.
