I guess this might be in the wrong section, but when you paint, or even play tabletop; Do you have a particular food in mind, possibly even a drink? whether it gets you into the painting mode, or just out of sheer ritual is also what I'm asking. I know some drink decaffeinated tea's and low octane juices, because no one wants to green stuff with the jitters, and that often light meals like sandwiches prevent food coma's and sluggishness, but there will always be those dew drinking mcdonalds munching members of our brethren. I'm building a space wolves(40k) army, pictures to come, and part of me wants to bust out my horn, fill it with meade and put some creature or beast out to roast on the pyre (in my case a grill) but then again I don't think I need to get into character when I'm building characters lol, but I just figured I'd ask my fellow LO members to see where I'm at amongst said brethren

Yah i'm beat as to which section this should be in... I think you made a good guess though!
I used to have a few cold ones (the beverage not the reptile!) while painting/gaming as I found it relaxing. Packets of crisps, chocolate goodies... oh and especiall haribo sweets.
Now i'm a health freak so I'm having ice water and plain natural popcorn (much better than crisps etc!!).
Its all down to your tastes really. I know alot of people reward themselves with things for painting a certain amount. Oftentimes I'll refuse to have dinner until I've finished what I'm doing, otherwise I'll never go back to it!

I am President of the Brunel University wargames society - PM me if interested.
I've thought about posting this in modelling too but I'm not sure of how active they are either
I've found that I'll get sloppy if I drink booze and I guess I am getting older because I get so "jangle nerved" if I have a monster, but I'll figure something out because water is too tempting to dip a brush in!
funny you should mention it, I was eating a bowl of fresh edamame like they were crisps recently
I guess it is more personal then I had expected, more or less I was seeking a general consensus, but we're all different, and not just those who play xeno armies, thank you for your post
Big Ole Mountain dew. The bigger the better, I find the bigger the drink I have the longer I sit and paint. Sucks being out of work, all this time to paint but dont have the "extra" materials that I need to do it.
I tend to alternate between tea brewed strong, sweet and milky and plain water when painting. It may just be a placebo effect but I'm convinced that my hands shake less after a cup of tea.
Diet coke and weed (just joking!). And why is this in painting?
I AM BOOMER!
I thought about posting it in modelling but painting seemed to get the most traffic/hits but it's been moved now :-)
If there's no early start the next day, Lager. I reward myself with a chug every time I finish a colour on a figure or vehicle. Naturally I avoid fine detail work at the end of a painting session. This method automatically lets me know when I've had enough of painting too.
Jager bombs. Very efficient at wiping out friend or foe.
Coffee for me. I suppose i have coffee no matter what im doing these days, but there it is.
For me its normally a big ol' glass of smoothie of some flavor, at the moment it is mango and passion fruit. Very tasty. Although sometimes its orange juice (Only when i am painting something that isnt Eldar Fire Dragons, i have gotten paint water and orange juice mixed up one time too many.)
Food wise it is normally some roasted/toasted nuts of either sweet or savory variety. Although a raw nut mix with honey, yogurt and sultana's is a favorite of mine.
God i sound like such a health freak right now.
Sometimes the best defense is a good offense... Wait, what?
