I've been playing for about 18 months now & want to look at starting to go local clubs & maybe even start playing at tournaments, so basically I want to know what is the general attitude towards your models & army list not matching equipment.
Example is I made the mistake of making a lot of my marauders with hand weapon & shield but on my list I'll always give them G.weapons & I just tell my opponent this on set up.
Would this be excepted or is it frowned upon?
Usually you'll find people will let you proxy just about anything in pick up games. In tournaments it up to whoever is running it, but I'd say most of the time theyll let you do it.
Depends on who you play against.I would allow almost anything.Expect though to be asked for the same too.
Funniest thing i ever heard about proxying:A guy had glued a huge rock on a large (monstrous creature) base.He was playing necrons. When asked what was that thing the answer was:Its the deceiver,he is deceiving you and posing as a rock!
Praise be to the Emperor!!
Anyway as for the original post. Most friendly games should be totally fine with proxy, and as mentioned, its up to tournament organizers. Since, in this case, you're talking about just wargear it shouldn't be as big of deal. As long as an army list is readily available it's not that big of deal.
