dont get me wrong guys. I'll concede that obviously, you might know what you're doing if you've so far managed to run this site so well, but it seems to be that with all due respect: The mods here can be a bit snippy, if downright not "ass-hole-ish" at times. This might just be my opinion, but I still feel that a bit less attitude when correcting an eronious user topic or just a misinformed user would make the site a little bit more fun.
The reason Im saying this is because recently, some one created a librarium online chatroom somewhere, and with very little gratitude towards the gesture, and in less kind words, a mod tells us to use our minds and eyes. I feel this creates a kind of tension between users and "testy" mods. Ban my account if you want, but I was merely bringing up a point. Your ability or inability to deal with it maturely is entirely of your consequence.
Just private message them your complaints. Swiping all mods with the ***** brush doesn't help you, us or the site.
I think the correct procedure is to IM the mod like Uberloz said, and then IM an Admin if you're still not satisfied with the response.I do agree that sometimes the mods can be a bit ..um...overzealous in their enforcement of the rules but their methods are effective.I guess the ends justify the means.
GRRRRR...i guess this could be my current anger talking. but its good to get things in the open.
I just watched today in school the "stanford prison experiment" it is just like this!! It turns this environment, into the playground of the mods. im not dissing any mods, as this happens on tons of forums. Its just that it seems as if people with power sometimes abuse it....no? the majority of people with power will abuse it. That almost a fact.
seriously you dont need to go off on a rampage when someone makes a "boo-boo"
Although now that im thinking about this...I dont think its the mods, i think its just the "pros" the people with respect because of their perspective or # of posts or whatever.
I recall a topic where i made a booboo and a certain person (by the way he is a pretty cool guy, not a ***** or anything) said somethign along the lines of "the stake has been placed try to budge it".
That is not nice, people dont want to be a part of a community where it seems as if you make a mistake and you are a "noob" that you have adeath sentence.
this is just a friendly reminder
This is a large and very active community with lots of people posting everyday, if the mods weren't firm then there would be off-topic stuff and flame wars all over the place and the board would become far less of a great site like it is now.
Why don't you try reading the rules and sticking to them when posting? Look how many posts I have had, and I've NEVER had any problems with mods giving me crap or anything so I don't think they are nazis or whatever. The place needs a bit of order or it won't work, cooperate and post properly then most of all remember its only an internet site so don't take things personally, just get over it and keep on going.
And I don't mean any offence by this, so sorry if it sounds like I do. Also, I think PMing the mods isn't really going to do anything. They will simply ignore it, what can they do? Wait for some to come along here and respond.
So I don't understand the listings under my name. Where can I find an explanation of them. Why do I have "Be cool or be history"? I really can't think of what it was unless it was typing damned one time, but there's worse on here.
dont get me wrong, I totally understand. I used to run/mod the forum on my old site alone, with out help from others, so I totally understand that they dont have time to be sweet and charming with everyone. But I also understand that for the most part, just because they dont have to be nice doesnt mean they have to get nasty with users. That was the point of my topic post, and to the mods: by all means, continue the excellent work you've become known for enforcing, but just remember that although it is only a site, a little less confrontation or "defacto" attitude with your corrections would be both greatly appreciated, and beneficial to the community as a whole.

Thats just your title that everyone gets, it changes depending on how many posts you have. Yours is already different from what you mentioned.
Otahak, ok thats good then. I have seen others complain about mods though, so I posted my views on it. I guess a bit less sarcasm and militaristic response to things might go down well, bu whatever. I guess it comes back down to don't do anything outside the rules and you won't get it. :hmm: *Shrugs*
Otahak: If you have a complaint, take it up with me personally. Same with anything else: requests for help, a little advice or whatever.
Yes, I am zealous in my rule enforcement. Why? Because simply put I dont want this place to become like The Warp.
If you obey the rules, then we get on fine. Thats all there is to it. The case in point contravened our rule of searching for a topic before posting it. You would not believe the numbers of repeating topics we have each year.
If you think that was nasty, you really dont want to see me in full swing.
And by the way, insulting us, or more accurately, me, is not a good thing if you want the rules to be interpreted leniently on occasion in your favour.
"It fits like clothes made out of wasps!"
Cool this isn't closed yet.
Yah, I have been on many-a-messageboard. And other then the Anime Agency mods, which I have a great reputation with, these Mods killed a kiddy thread about if there were girls here. Come on, we can't talk about the girls. But it is cool, it just an extremally noobish thread anyway so no biggy.
But some needs to listen to some Falco, and "Relax." But this is my opinion. Just to make it blattenly clean.
So keep truck'n mod.
