Only when opponent agrees
Only models that are or have been listed in a codex
Only models listed in a latest edition codex
All allowed, except flyers and superheavies
Never allowed. Period!
Thought I'd throw up this poll as the question bothers me.
Feel free to enter the poll, and please do come with suggestions and comments.
Are they legal? No
Should they be legal? Why the hell not? If you have the cash and the time to put one together you should be allowed to use it.As long as it fists withing the rules and points cost of the game then go ahead.
they're not alowed but you can use them if you wanted to with friends

they shouldn't require permission with the exception of super-heavies and flyers, the normal models are well priced and more often overpriced for what the give
The reason I made this poll is because I had an experience with reluctant players...
I was playing in a 40k league, and this one guy refuses to allow me to use Leman Russ Vanquishers.
All the other huys I had played against didn't mind at all.
But eventually the "referee" concluded that once upon a time the vanquisher was listed in the imperial guard codex...thereby it should still be fully usable.
Personally I don't see anything wrong with using forgeworld models, heck even the imperial armour books conclude that "why should anything be illegal?".
If players would get to refuse the opponent to use regular forgeworld models, woulden't that give me the right to refuse them the use of eg. the eldar avatar?
The avatar is supposed to be the eldar god of war, and the guy is usually only summoned when there is great need... you get my point?
Anyway, keep the polls coming, and keep posting.
Normal forge world items should be legal (ie. those that appear in codices or are "sensible" like leman russ and chimera variations). Titans, heavy bombers and the rest should remain illegal as they are now, unless playing with friends and having prior notification. The reason is that people go to gaming club or GW stores expecting to play 'normal' armies. If someone then drops a titan on them it is really cheesy and done only so that player will have an edge against the opposition who isn't really geared against it. I have had personal experience with this sort of player: A friend of mine was in a GW store when a titan arrived for this eldar player; an eldar player I have defeated every single game we've played. My friend likes the titan and then the guy proceeds to say "heh, I'd like to see your friend's sisters when I drop this on them!" Wow, congratulations guy, if you have to resort to titans because you can't win with a codex army, what can I say? Kudos.
when i have used a titan in a battle, it has never managed to regain the points cost. it costs 700pts.
if i had enough anti-tank wepons on my side i would be overjoyed to have a titan playing against me.
If it ain't broke, break it
They are legal, but some will require opponent consent. Like a titan or something.
If there are rules for it, its legal to use.
An example being a Winged Hive Tyrant. Its a regular HQ choice with some wings on it, which also is legal and is in my current codex. There is no reason something like that shouldn't be allowed.
So wat every1 is trying to say.
Normal models or kits (like the waveserpents dreadnought arms etc)
Should be legal to use because it is in the codex also litlle skimmers and such kind of stuf is legal but oversized models that are made more for just showing them should be only allowed if the opposing player agrees it.
However with that statement out of the way, I would say listen to ArchonBjorn. He has a really good tendency to not say stupid things and give bad advice.Learn from yesterday.

Hope for tomorrow
