Question for the mods, really...
How does the copyright thing work? In the Pointless Topics thread there was talk about wording and so on. Perhaps if this were clarified then people wouldn't have to be told not to post stats/have threads locked and such.
Maybe it is picky, but lets say that you had done some work and you wanted to sell it to people so that you could make some money. Perfectly acceptable. But wait nasty slimey has just come along and stolen all of your work and made it freely available to anyone that wants it on that big old interweb thing.Originally posted by Xerxes@Jan 21 2005, 16:25
Talk about picky... right, I get it now.
Suddenly no-one wants to buy what you were going to sell because they can get it for free. You've got no money to feed your family and your house has been repossessed!!!
You'd be pretty annoyed I think.
Just remember to abide by the rules and you wont have the games workshop naziesque solicitors banging on your door demanding blood and generally trying to stop you from expressing your opinions.
Yes, protecting one's ideas from those who try to exploit and profit from someone else's hard work can only be labelled as Nazis. These laws can be onerous at times but they are there for a reason.Originally posted by Mikhail The Heretic@Jan 21 2005, 120
