If I wanted to play a 1400 point game (40k or fantasy) would that be playing around my army list? I have about 1450 points of stuff. I wanted to use as much as i could and i could easily take of 50 points so I was asking if anyone wanted to play 1400 points. one of my friends thinks this is trying to get an advantage of my army. I know that if i wanted to play like 1050 because i didn't want to take anything out for 1000 points i would get a slight advantage because he has to make his list around mine.
tell me if any of you think 1400 would make my opponent work around my list.

Well depends. If you both agree upon it, you aren't playing around your army list, and if you alone want to play a 1400 point match then I'd believe that you are playing around your own list.Originally posted by aufde@Mar 16 2005, 170

Why not play 1500 and ask if you could proxy something for the extra 50 points, say a biovore or something, you'd be at a disadvantage (slightly) as your taking something oyur not used to, but it would let you use everything in a standard points game. Also your not exactly tailoring your list if you use EVERYTHING you own to make it up, your probably taking hits in effectiveness in a few places so in a 1400 if he can then tailor his list against exactly what you've got if he feels like it.
I once played an 8000 point battle (all my DE at the time) vs 4 of my friends armies each with 2000 points, I was at a big disadvantage because I had no options I only had one set up I could use for my army list.
