Welcome to Librarium Online!
I checked the US GW store and noticed that the release dates for a lot of the new SM stuff comes out before it does in UK! Why is that? Isn't GW a UK company? So how come UK doesn't get them first?
I live in USA, so I'm happy about this, I'm just curious. Something doesn't seem right.
Because GW is a UK company, headquaters are in Nottingham in the UK.
You yanks usualy get everything first, no need to freak out when for once you don't.
I think you misunderstood him.Originally Posted by Revenant42

I must admit my curiosity to a pre-emptive release here in the states as well. Are the items always released in the U.S. first? If so, why?
That's a fair point, couldn't that be constituted as favouratism?
I think if GW is a UK company things should come out over here first, just like when new video games come out made by American companies they're released in the US first...
Video games are released in the US before Europe because they need to be translated into German, French, Spanish and Italian. Why we northern europeans have to suffer because of this(Scandinavia and the British Islands) i have no idea. I think the different regions on DVD's might have something to do with this aswell, but...
Anyways, i have no idea why the new models will be available in the US before than in the UK, but i can guess. First i would guess that the models are in the US or that GW wishes to test the market for the new models in the US so they would know how many would be needed to be shipped to the European stores.
But i'm only guessing. Someone probably knows better than me about this.
Plus there's the fact that obviously if they were to release on one day worldwide they would have to ship them over to America prior to the relase dat, so maybe American stores can release them a few days early or something...
Perhaps the models are manufactured in the US, so they would be released here first because it's closer.

i am pretty sure they have a factory in the US. it probably just has to do with the set up of the different countries branches of the company.

If they are sold in only some areas in Europe, neighboring countries could get a hold of the games/DVD's and sell pirated versions. The game/DVD companies would make no money that way.Originally Posted by Kaiser
Maybe its coming out in the US before the UK because there are more US buyers?
