HI!
I KNOW ALL DARK ELDAR PLAYERS R WONDERING, HOW DO U BEAT THE MONOLITH. DARK LANCES, BLASTERS DON'T WORK WELL. THERE ARE 2 SOLUTIONS. THE FIRST 1 IS EASY.

1. GET A WYCH SQUAD ABOUT 10 INCLUDING A SUCCUBUS. GIVE THE SUCCUBUS HAYWIRE GRENADES AS WELL AS ALL THE WYCHS. GIVE HER A GOBLET OF SPITE AS WELL. PUT THEM IN A RAIDER THAN WHEN THE MONOLITH CAMES CLOSE, GET OUT, ASSULT IT AND COZ OF THE GOBLET, U HIT ON A 3+ NOT A 6+! U SHOULD BE ABLE 2 DESTROY IT.

THE 2ND IS HARDER.

2. GET UR OPPENENTS PERMISSION TO USE CUSTOM VECHICLES. GET A MEGA WEAPON DISINTEGRATOR AND SHOT THE ORDINANCE AT THE TANK. U ROLL 8+2D6.

U SHOULD NOW DESTROY IT.

LATERS,
POST UR REPLIES HERE.

First off, welcome to LO. Please don't use caps lock though, that's the equivalent of shouting and generally considered as impolite (and awful to read).

It is in fact very hard for DE to destroy a monolith. That solution with wyches and a goblet of spite already has been discussed on numerous messageboards, and while it's impossible to disprove that it works, it was a general consensus that the GoS was not intended to work against things without a WS characteristic. Using it for this purpose would be exploiting a loophole. I'd use that technique only against well known power gamers, and even then it's questionable if using a squad of wyches for this purpose is cost efficient.

You forgot one possibility: Ignore it. DE are fast enough to avoid the monolith (except for the turn when it deepstrikes), most things in our list can move four times as fast as a 'lith. A monolith is also not exactly cheap, so if your opponent uses one or even two, then he will have less necron models so he is closer to phase out.

I'd have to agree with ArchonAstaroth. Ignoring it is by far the most effective way for you to deal with it. It may cause some damage to you, but if you kill the rest of his army around it, the Monolith's presence isn't going to be of any help.

Welcome to LO! Back to subject, how do you avoid the particle whip? Huge range, large strength, AP1 at center. Ouch!
Henceforth no man shall set foot upon the world, and all around shall be set sentinals to ward away unwary spacecraft. We must accept that this place is lost to us forever, and is now the eternal habitation of abomination.

I wouldn't worry to much about it... it scatters, so it is a little random. Plus, if you kill enough Necrons, they'll probably use the teleportation ability of the Monolith and not the Partcile Whip.

With the TVR it can hardly harm a raider unless the raider is hit by the center hole...

Even if it can set off one shot it probably won't get its points back. Only that teleportation ability is annoying.

Look around in the appropriate forum and you'll see the same thing. These things aren't exactly pearls of knowledge. Also knock the caps, it's one of the things I really hate to see on forums. Thread locked.
