I started this thread just for fun. Post any times when the word "Oops..." really becomes appropriate during a game. Theres plenty of other choice words, but lets use oops. I'll start off with my example:
Was playing a game with Daemonhunters versus Marines. (he was marines) On like the 4th turn his termies finally showed up. He placed the first guy exactly (I measured later) 11" away from an imperial guard infantry squad I had. Only 1 guy was within 11", the rest were a couple inches away. He first rolled the scatter, and it was perfectly lined up with the guardsmen. he then rolled the 2 dice, and up pops a 5 and a 6.... Oops.... 260 points down the drain ^_^
Anyways, just thought I'd start a thread for fun, free of the annoying debates we sometimes get into
Well, post away!
okay fine, how's this:
7 GKTs DSed behind my lines, intent on taking out my starcannons and dark reapers.
Fine i say, next turn they get superior eldar plasma.
So... 3 starcannons...nothing
okay fine, falcons fire upon them... 2 pulse lasers and 2 more starcannons...1 die
oookay...at this point i'm out of stuff that can effectively kill them and in a last ditch effort, i fire my shurikats...all the rest die...
So where's the mistake?
Well, now that i wasted 1000 points worth of shooting on 7 termies, all the guardians got mowed down by storm bolters. The reapers died because of a battlecannon and a falcon was shaken by a lascannon. In retrospect, i probably should've gone for the rest of his army as opposed to concentrating on the termies.

Dreams give us a vision of a world unlike any we have seen. They present us with a glimpse of a better life; a goal to aspire to, and in the face of insurmountable odds, they provide us with the power to overcome, to live on, and to succeed where we would have otherwise failed.
haha reminds me of my battle tonight when lasgun shots from 1 squad of IG troopers I had took off 3 wounds from a carnifex (or some similar big bug).
on the level of oopses, I think I need to remember to space my squads out to be over 6" apart because the nids proceeded to move from one squad to the next decimating my whole army till there was nothing left and I never got the chance to shoot them after they made initial contact with my Iggies  (this whole oops example was a pathetic attempt to steer my post back on topic..I'll surrender the thread back to all of you with eldar related tales now :p )
 Why is this in the Eldar Section? Should'nt it be in Wargames Discussion? *moved*
You cannot win, for to fight us is to give us power.
ooer, nebulas jacked a warp spider's warp generator and strapped it to the thread!
Well, in that battle report with the pictures, if any tau player realised, I had a definitive oops moment.
I forgot to move my hammerhead >_<. (I was facing a chaos predator).
Not only that, but I made sure my opponent knew it too >_<.
"Oh bleep! I forgot to move my hammerhead."
"Means you can penetrate it next turn"
It worked out alright in the end though .
He immobolised it .
I have had many "oops" moments. Most of them happen each game I play. Almost every game I play I forget to use my Assassins "move your opponents stuff" free move. Almost every time damn it! >_<. I'm getting better though. But I'm just hopeless at remembering speical rules. I'd hate to play Eldar
imo you made a mistake in the resolving of battle. after one close combat is fought, and consolidation is made, the turn is over, so you should have had time to move your units away, spacing them out. the next unit the attack is resolved in the next turn.Originally Posted by artificer knoll

1 Eldar ranger chsed down 30 LoTD mutants CQC
5 Tau fire warriors chased down 9 genesteales in CQC
A storm bolter killed a toughness 7, 2+ save carnifex with 2 wounds left
