    Underated units in 40k

I thought that this would be a pretty interesting little topic to bring up..Which units do you think are the most underated, underestimated and often ignored units of Warhammer 40k???
Cant wait to hear what you think.
    Cheers guys,
    Tycho

Battle Sisters, IG Platoons, and against some of my opponents Rough Riders. But people never expect troops to hit hard. Like my SoB and IG do.

I think that Eldar Guardians are one of the most underated units. people seem to think that they are useless, but with Assault2 Str4 AP5 gun & a Warlock they can be devastating, 5+ coversave & guide can help them to rip enemy apart.
"I'm gonna stomp 'em to dust. I'm gonna grind their bones. I'm gonna burn down dere towns and cities. I'm gonna pile 'em up inna big fire and roast 'em. I'm gonna bash 'eads, break faces and jump up and down on da bits dat are left. An' den I'm gonna get really mean."

Guardians hey?I dont think that they are that underated.I could think of some examples which i think would top them such as archaons(the dark eldar lord, might be spelt wrong). But i learnt the hard way that he is pretty damn nasty,as to are wyches...gee those things are nuts!

Archons and wyches? You didn't know about them? Them and incubi are some truely nasty combat masters, something I thought everyone knew. I guess if you'd never played DE before...

Any fairly cheap unit has the ability to take down bigger, scarier units in the game. It doesn't happen very often, so people tend to forget just how easy it is to fail 2+ saves. We've all heard the stories of a lone guard sergeant gunning down a daemon prince, or taking on entire raptor squads by himself and winning.

The ones that stick out from my armies are Tau Human Auxilaries, with EMP grenades (surprise! we blew up your land raider), gun drones (they always outshoot my fire warriors), and Eldar guardians in general. Giving stormies fusion guns and haywire grenades might be expensive, but who really thought five guardians were going to decimate all those tanks?

I think a lot of people underestimate their basic troopers, going for the elites, fast attack, and heavy support options more than they really need to.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's wrong.

No unit in any of my armies is as underestimated as my Gibbering Hordes (Nurglings but for Lost and Damned). Those little guys hardly ever recieve any attention when they stroll across the board. I field them in small units like 3-4 bases each and I admit they do not look all to intimidating in comparision with the Obliterators or Mutanthordes.
Then in all of a sudden they reach the enemylines and the opponent realises that those threewound bases are a nightmare with that inv.save and uite a few attacks.

Eldar Dire Avengers, boy are they awesome when I bring them to bear on those guardsmen......... what else? umm...... Necron Pariahs, there was an article I read today about them which completely changed my view on them. Eldar Shining Spears, someone on the eldar forum let me in on some tactics on how to use them, of cource Ive forgotten what is was now but I remenber that is was good.

Most units from the orks codex. People always think they're terrible but they're actually pretty good.
