I just got the new 40k wargear book, and I've skimmed through it, and it looks pretty good. Finally a book that has all the weapon stats, troops stats, vehicle upgrades, wargear etc. all rolled into one.
No more me saying to my opponents, a what prism? What's the iniative of your chaplain? He has how many attacks?
It even has fluff about the weapons from all the different races as well. It's a pretty awesome book, and it only costs about as much as a codex. Does anyone else have it yet? What do you think of it?
I was thinking about getting it. From how you describe it it sounds pretty good. So it has all the stats of every 40k unit? :w00t:
Hi i was thinking of buying it, and after hearing what you think of it, i think i will.
You say it has stats on all units does that include the chapter approved units? (like Chosen of Ahrimahn)

Actually, this 40k wargear book doesn't seem to be such a good buy for me, sure, it's great at the moment (well, unless it doesn't have any Black Templars in it which means it's already obsolete) as GW will probably change a few rules, add some wargear and units (Tau Vespids anyone).
It could have been great, if all the new codices had been released and GW had said that they wont change it again (like that would even happen).
I read this the other day when I was in Lincoln, nice man in shop there btw, anyways... I glanced through it and seems alright. I was also told about the termie armour saying it gives a 3+ save not 2+ and someone else has pointed out that nurglings don't get their daemonic save (invun right?).
Could be an investment, yes it will be missed out soon to the upgraded books and that but then - what GW book doesn't come without the great wad of extra paper declaring changes over this that or the other?
Yeah, well the simple fact that GW will add a completly new army (Xenohunters and who knows what else) makes it less than a good buy, and well, I'd figured that a release such as this one would meant that you shouldn't have to add a great wad of papers to your codex.Originally Posted by King Ulrik Flamebeard
True but it's good for the mean time, stats for all current squads and characters in the game; then add in upgrades, and all wargear. Oh and it has the weapon types at the front too (was in assult, heavy etc), it seems like a good idea currently. We'll see when GW decide to do the other armies.
it's a wonder they didn't do it as a spiral bound folder book, that way you can just print up the errata'd pages from the website and replace them......or is that just thinking clearly?
