First let me start off by saying that even though I read about both armies I'm still stumped on which one I should choose so I decided to post this question in order to receive the opinions of other people (you guys know about this more then me of course). The army I choose will have to be the main army I use because now days I'm mostly going to be restricted to one army (money is a little tight) so I want to choose a army thats my favrouit and one that I won't get bored with (you know a army I can sit down and stare at for an hour).
If I collect the deamon hunters them it will be a grey knight army but the problem I'm trying to overcome is if playing this army will be any fun. To start with the other army list seems more "dynamic" then the grey knights because the marines have land speeders, variety of tanks, transports, drop-pods, etc (same could be said for the other armies). While the grey knights army-list seems a bit ordinary (fast attack for example). But still the grey knights have looks (a bit better then the other armies).
Any help choosing one would be helpful.
Let me break it down for you:
Look far better model wise
Are more 'elite' so you need fewer models
Harder to use effectively if your going for GK only
Get far more support from GW
Easy to play as
Flexible codex can be tailored to your play style
Fluff is flexible - traits, custom paint job etc
This is just off the top of my head, so I may think of others later
Btw you can mix them if you want e.g. take GK as allies in a SM army. If you don't want to mix then I recommend SMs if this is your first army (they're more forgiving) or GK if your looking for something new (noobs never use them - no offence if you are a noob, they're just harder to use)
Hope this helps
Well you cant take gk and space marines in the same army. But depends how long have you been playing for?
If you're going for Grey Knights, for god's sake, take some stormtroopers too. I've played against a GK army with Tau, and I wiped them out with shooting, simply on account of there being a mere handful, meaning I could more easily focus firepower. Stormtroopers give them some much needed numbers and flexibility.
I have been playing for about a year and a half. But I'm going to be restricted to one army (which is the purpose of this thread. Not to have any regrets for my number one army to be chosen). I have guard and dark eldar and I might have to sell one of them (what a shame). Even though daemonhunters can go with guard it really dosen't interest me that much. I was hoping to have a military/holy looking army of heroes because I got the idea from halo (my guard is halo inspired which is obvious with my warthog driving guardsmen) so for my spartan army it came to these guys. Maybe the title should have been "which 40k army is for me" but that seems to big a question.
I guess this whole time I had a group of armies I liked and collected but never a single favorite army I loved and thats what I'm asking for. I have a hard time with no success looking for that army with the right feel and I can't find it. I'm desperate for help. But then again for all I know my fave army might be one I already have.
PS- It's still crappy being only able to play one army most of the time.

Dpends then. With an demon hunters you get lots of elite troops such as st6 pyskers with 24 inch st4 assault weapons but then again a normal marine is well great. If you are up to it you should play demonhunters. There alot like dark eldar, once you get the tactics right you become unstoppable! Hope this has helped.
Oops youre right. Sorry about that...
Think about it this way.
Space Marines are boring. Why? 'Cause everybody and their mother plays space marines. The vaunted "variety" of "options" is virtually nonexistent becaue EVERYBODY PLAYS SPACE MARINES. When you play against them, you always know what you're up against.
If you play SM, you'll be just one more plain vanilla 40K player. One of many.
But, if you play Daemonhunters, you'll be far more unique. True, there aren't as many "options" in the codex, but that is more than offset by how interesting the army is. There's lots of interesting fluff. The models -- particularly the GKs and GK Terminators, are simply AMAZING. And your GKs/GKTs, while pricey, are extremely potent and are capable of ripping through ANYTHING like, well, a hot knife through butter. Plus, you can get inquisitors and retinues, assassins .... Plus you can ally with the other inquisition army (drat no alien hunters yet!) freely. I always take a unit of Battle Sister Seraphim, for example, to mix things up and put a scare into my opponents.
Daemonhunters is my first and only 40K army. I was a total noob when I began. And though I had some trouble figuring out how to play when outnumbered by 2 or 3 or 4 to 1, it has been really fun to do it. And it can be done.
DH are more challenging and rewarding to play, more challenging and rewarding to paint, than Space Marines.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

There arent many weapo options because Grey Knights are good at everything, If we needed anything which we do, its lascannons only our vehicles can have them . . and we dont have much vehicles
