Would you buy a fully painted army? Already assembled and painted to your standards? Of any game system that you want?
By day he fought with sword and shield.....
By night he fought with pen and parchment.....
He was....The Warrior Poet.......
Fear the ANZAC Clan!!!!!
ORDER OF THE SHADOWY FLAME!!!
Do you have uber micro...????
Although I did vote yes ... it Depends!
Depends on what I here you ask? Well, it depends on how much time I've got on my hands ... huh, well i don't time to spend an hour on each model to amke it look good so buying an already painted army would suit me fine!
Don't get me wrong I do like painting I'm not some lazy arse that doesn't paint so far I've painted all my armies ... but sopmetimes you just don't feel upto painting or you on a tight time schedule but still want to play so buying a painted army is the only option
I hope we get some more yesses because I have one I need to sell! Pretty well painted too, but I'm a bit disheartened looking on ebay. Seems painted miniatures go for way less than you bought them for, though alot of the paint jobs I've seen on ebay are pretty poor so that could be why.
I personally wouldn't but if I had heaps of money who knows? Only if it was painted at least as well as I could do it myself. Painting and converting are just as much fun for me as playing, maybe more.
I sure would! I did, too - at one point long ago. The price was right and the army was really nicely done, so I took the plunge.
Although I've since parted with it, it was a very nice buy.

I'm afraid my answer is a gritty, in-your-face "No". The thing is, it's half the fun to make and paint your models. The best part is converting stuff to cool standards, and it's hard to do if the models are already painted. Also, if it's painted well, you can't really take any credit for it, while you can if you've painted it.
I'd have to say no generally, but there might be an exception.
If I was say, busy painting/assembling another army or 2, yeah I would buy one if I wanted that army, it was painted well, and had the right units, it was a decent price, and was big enough so I don't have to add anything to it, becuase I wouldn't be able to paint a new unit exactly the same, and it would look out of place with the rest of the army.
Otherwise, no. Painting and assembling is half of the hobby, with battles being the other half. If they didn't want you to paint your own stuff, they'd sell pre-painted mins, like D&D minis.
Plus I prefer the feeling of putting some hard work into an army, seeing it finished and battle ready, and knowing that I did it all myself, rather than someone else doing it for me.
Why do you ask Warrior poet? See an army that caught your eye on ebay?
Basically - only if there was lot of models going cheap, and then I'd strip them and repaint them. I'm not....a good painter (I'm humble enough to admit that), but even if they were pro-painted I'd want MY paintjob on them.
I voted yes. A fully painted army would make it alot easier for me. With family and work it's hard to find alot of time to get my armies painted. That and if I it was real cheap.
Definetely no. I was given an Eldar Avatar and wraithlord, painted to a very high standard. I can't stand to use them because I didn't paint them myself.
For me, it's a maybe. If it's for a army I can use as a punching bag, then I'm okay with it. Still, most of the fun really comes from the possibilities the models give me...
I know of friends who would love cheap painted figs though. They think that part of it's troublesome.
