The people at my local gaming group like to play with 2000 pt armies, im cool with that its just it is hard for me to get up to 200 points. (It took me a year with my IW!) Also I personally do not like to paly with 2000 pts it is too hard or confusing (I think) for me and there just too much stuff on the board. Do you think I should just tell em I like too play lsmaller games or should I just keep playing with 2000 pts.
Sorry for complaining!

Well, you're playing too, so if you want to play a smaller game then tell em. I mean, there needs to be comprimising because it takes two to play.
But I think 2000 is the best amount of points to play. I find it hard to trim my list lower than that. And at that level everyone should have plenty of stuff in their army to counter whatever comes your way. If you're playing a 1000 pt. game some dude might power game ya and you might not have the right stuff to counter. But at 2000 you can spend more freely and get enough of the big stuff.
But if you don't have enough models or have to ghetto your list up with crap you shouldn't take just to get to 2000 you're at a disadvantage and should stick to smaller games so you have every bit as good a chance to winas the dude what got 7000 points worth o' stuff and can take precicely what he wants.
Eh, If you're playing 40k I always found that 1500 points was the best to play. But what you should really go for if you have a steady income and decent friends is to start with some low point cost games, then work your way up as you gain models. But I always saw 1500 points as ideal for 40k and 2000 for Fantasy.
