I think the scale they use for the GW minis (at least the 40k models) is called hero scale, where tanks are smaller than they should be and infantry are bigger. I guess this allows for more detail. Are they getting rid of hero scale? I ask this because the new, bigger rhino(? might not be a rhino I'm not sure)
Its very unlikely that the Heroic scale will go away. The new Rhinos are just beefing up to match the style, and other companies are on board with the scale. Rakm (Confrontation) and Reaper are two that come to mind. I'd expect they will get even more "heroic" before they shrink to more realistic scale. That was my biggest complaint with Lord of the Rings minis. Since they went with the realistic scale, they don't match the other lines. I'd have bought a lot more LotR minis if they matched the rest.
