Im in the uk and id like to get a sort of small ish display cabinet for my best just for a few of my best minis, and well im haveing real trouble finding one. Anyone know of any companys that sell them if not ill have to make my own
If you have ikea available anywhere near you they sell an affordable one with a light. I think they are around $60 - $100 us. It has some sizeable gaps around the door so dust will probably get in but the price is right.
If you are looking for a retail like one expect to pay a couple grand for it. You can usually find them online.
Ikea sell them? =o__O=
I'd get one myself, but sadly I have not the space...nor the money lol. I do plan on getting one but only once I gain the space to have it.
Though I only have one or best painted minis at the minute anyway XD
It is display cabinet-ish... Not as good as the professional retail ones but it has glass shelves and an interior light with a glass door. Ikea quality isn't the grandest but if you are looking for something similar other than one of those tiny display boxes you really won't find much in the same price range for sure!
This one here is showing $60 on the ikea us website. Look under glass cabinets.
I’ll go with Slorak and say that Ikea is the way to go for the kind of cabinet you’re searching for. Since moving a few weeks ago I have frequented Ikea for furniture, and they do have the kind of glass cabinets you’re describing, and cheaply too. I wanted to buy a really nice one with lights that cost some £30 I think, but alas, I don’t have that much space available in my dorm room. In any case, check out Ikea’s homepage for the store closest to you.
Ikea is great.

Well thats not too bad. In fact it's pretty much ok for what you'd want.
It would fit nicely into a groups gaming room.
I have exactly the shelf that slorak posted the picture of. It works fairly well, and my minis are reasonably dust free after being in there for six months or so; of course, so is pretty much everything else. I've knocked into it a couple times (lightly) without any disasterous results. Definately worth the $60US I paid for it. Just make sure you have some help putting it together as the glass walls don't stand up very well until it's mostly finished.
You play your game, I'll play mine.
I have a similar one from Ikea, except its wooden framed. There is a bit of dust, but that should not be a problem once I get around to staining/varnishing it. I will be getting a light for it at some point too...
