Rep Power: 34 ![]() ![]() | Amidst my travels through the web I was researching several Ideas for projects related to Warhammer 40K, Battlefleet Gothic, and Epic 40K. So I decided to find out GW's take on submissions. I highly recommend that ALL gamers who mod figures or terrain, are seeking to write and publish anything GW related thoroughly read all of these articles. GW has posted extensively regarding every aspect of what fans may and may not do. To read this list go to the Games Workshop home page. On the bottom of the page, the last link is Terms of Use. I hope everyone finds these as enlightening as I have. http://uk.games-workshop.com/legal/ Thank You Cirquemeter ![]() Last edited by Blackhat; April 6th, 2006 at 21:44. |

Rep Power: 29 ![]() | it basically says if you send in a idea to GW that idea automatically becomes GW's idea and not your own, meaning you don't recieve rewards if your ideas were ever used.... that doesn't seem very fair to me because it means you can't share your ideas without losing the rights associated with them... if you think of something good surely you deserve a reward, especially if your idea helps GW sell more minis.

Rep Power: 49 ![]() ![]() | when we went to gamesday an we talked to one of the mini designers my friend whos an american (we live in UK) got one guy into a discussion about the moulds and casting. the guy was really forthcoming about chatting quite happily knowing what was happening next me and the other two with us (one an ex and one a current member of staff) were trying hard not to laugh. So when my friend turns round and says "well thanks thats a big help for when i set up my company" the guys face was a picture it was all a wind up but of course he didnt know that. i read that counterfit thing in WD first and the first thing i thought was GW trying to scare its punters into not buying cheaper models of ebay and car boots. I've bought from both and they were fully genuine models and if they were fakes then even GW staff members cant tell the difference. not to mention that buying a bulk load off ebay saved me over 70 quid if i bought them in GW and thats with P&P there probably are counterfit models out there but ive never seen them

Rep Power: 61 ![]() | I have just been reading the Intellectual property policy page on games work shops site, and i have to say my opinion of them has gone down the toilet, is it just me over reacting, or are they just [incert word simlar to 'assholes']? If i had the technical knowhow i would make a mod/skin just to annoy them ![]() |

Rep Power: 25 ![]() | seriously guys, last year at agmesday 05 baltimore, I was talking to designers about some of my ideas and showed them some of my concept sketches for terrain and model. withen 6 months they started announcing and selling stuff totally similair to mmy ideas. I managed to get a hold of 1 of the designers I talked to who said he didnt remember me but thought of some of his new stuff about the same time as gamesday 05. coincidence? i think not

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Gidday mate. I was recently involved in a Grand Tourney in Bris, Aus. Over the 2 days, we spoke to a few staff. The best of all was a guy called *&^% who said(and I quote) " If for example you have a Terminator squad, and want 2 Assault cannons, the box only supplies 1. So, you make a SILICONE CAST and make some for yourself. As long as these things are for your own personal use, GW does not have a prob with that. SELL them and we will go after your Grandmother....". We discussed other things as well, but he said in general" As long as you are not trying to get any money out of it, we do not have any worries with it". |

YOU have to keep it. All things considered, that's pretty normal, seeing as most video-games, dvds, and cds are write-protected so that you can't copy them at all. What does irritate me is thier policy that using their material immediately voids your rights. It's as though you pay them 100% royalties for use of their ideas. That's bull, seeing as I have 2 full novels keyed up, and there are enough amazing fiction writers around here. Hey, their loss...
