Is the Cities of Death codex the codex for Medusa V?
If not, then what is?
The new Cities of Death Codex is going to replace the old Cityfight Codex and the upcoming Medusa V campaign is based around the new codex, kinda like Armageddon and Abaddon's Black Crusade but instead of new army lists it provides new rules for fighting in urban warefare.

and then if GW follows their trend in a couple years the book will be made obsolete and everything in it illegal :w00t:
Hmph, banning craftworld eldar. What is wrong with them?
Which would hardly matter that much, since I have yet to find a single models's rules inside. The only thing that would become illegal is how to figure out fighting in a city.and then if GW follows their trend in a couple years the book will be made obsolete and everything in it illegal
It does make you wonder....are they going to ban the Death Leaper? The only updated rules are in a campaign pamphlet. Its doesnt feel right to use a model with no Chapter Approved rules.

Im in ur Halo, killin ur covernantz
the COD expansion was explain like this to me
in Cityfight, you learnt the rules for 40k, then u had to learn the rules for Cityfight
Cities of Death takes the 40k rules and shows how they apply to fighting in city enviroment.
which sounds pretty cool to me, no new rules to learn
thats exactly it, just provides new rules for fighting in urban environments, such as introducing the strategems and providing some new mission types. There is also a load of modelling advice etc. Its basically like a new chapter in the 40k rulebook, rather than a new rule set.Originally Posted by SquishyB
There is no explicit mention of Medusa V in the CoD book- although IMO the Medusa V campaign is geared towards cities of death- hence the proliferation of hives on the campaign map- so expect a lot of CoD games to be played in the GW stores Medusa V events.
Its a nice expansion though and i personally highly recomend getting it.

The Manager's Boss (something like regional sales manager) at my local GW said that there is a chance the new Codex will contain rules for building your own craftworlds like IG doctrines and SM Chapter Traits.Hmph, banning craftworld eldar. What is wrong with them?
Being somebody who's still fairly new to all of this, did the Armageddon and Eye of Terror codicies come out before or after the campaigns were played?
