Played my first CoD game yesterday at my local club, and after making 6 of the buildings myself i gotta say i was kinda proud of what was created, we played with 9 buildings, which by the way are not particulary hard to make, but really time-consuming.
Anyway i was playing my 'nids allied with two chaos armies against a space marine, tau and necron alliance personaly i chose deep strike (3 lictors:shifty: ) sewer rats and medicae facility. The stratagems make the game a lot more tactical and the game absolutely rocked. I had a great time and me and the chaos won. I was wondering if you had played CoD and what you thought of it i thought it was great and i'm gonna be playing it a lot lot more when we get another ten yes TEN buildings for the club made.
BTW thats about 19 buildings overall. awesome.
I really can't think of anything witty to say.
Played my first game last week! My Deathwing vs Orks! We totally wiped each other out - 1 scoring unit each left (I had a dread with 1 weapon left! he had a squad of burna boyz at 52% strength!) then we realised the new VP rules....... units over 25% strength count as scoring units so I lost narrowly as he still had some stormboyz above 25% strength too.
I loved it though - CoD rocks and gives any army a chance to win!
Cities of death rocks. I played my first WH40k game as a Cities of death game last week, at some GW store. They already have a battlefield with about 8 buildings and some barricades set up over there.
I played alongside another Space marine player (I play SM myself) against an all tank IG player (both 1000 points armies). In the end, all of his tanks we're lost. And I still had my 1 squads of 5 Marines and another one of 5 where one was lost, due to his siege shell stratagem. My Chaplain in Termie armor and 2 of my 5 assault marines still left. The other player lost all of his troops (His Termie Librarian, and his Devastator squad... We joined forces as if it was one team though). As stratagem we choose was Tank barricades, and we cornered his tanks with them (especially his Hellhound) The tanks he could move, he didn't because a Marine with missile launcher was peeking over a barricade just out of range :shifty: .
In the end we got close with both our HQ choices and the assault marines (with a PF sergeant) and used meltabombs on those tanks.
I really like Cities of death due to the stratagems and the buildings. And besides gameplay, those ruined buildings look great!
cities of death rocks. p.s. arent lictors always allowed to deepstrike no matter what. if so, you don't need to buy the stratagem becuase it says units that can always deepstrike don't need to select it.
That is not dead which may eternal lie,
for in strange aeons even death may die.
My first game was a firesweep. My 2000 nids vs his 2000 Armored company. I keeled him but good. My VPs were 1400, his were 560, but I occupied all 4 of the ruins. Move through cover plus melee strong = good.
Yeah, City of Death is really cool. Those Strategems are really great. I played my first with a test army (deamon hunters with inducted imperial guard) against a chaos army. His 20 man Beserker Squad destroyed a Chimera, 2 imperial guards + command squads and my Inquisitors retinue in close combat. But there came a 7 man grey Knight squad to the resue, and wasted the last 15 Beserkers (damn those grey knights are strong  )
It became a draw, because he used a demolition to blow up one of his own buildings with his flag in it (we played the "flag the ruins" game). He really hoped he'd throw that 1 so he would have wonn
Edit: I thought of a new Stratagem, the Night Fighting Stratagem. It does what the name suggests, it makes the game play in Night Fighting. Would this be a good one to add to the others, or would this be too powerfull?

Tyranids Win / Draw /Lost
Daemon Hunters Win / Draw / Lost
i have to say CoD is very Cool. it is much better than the old city fight rules.
when i played my first game i was very much impressed. but i dont have the money to by a city.
i think the designers of it have made it s it is very tactical which makes it alot more fun for me.
i just hope CoD dosent take over standard 40K
I just lurk with my devourergaunts. I might stick booby traps in front of them--I need to test it out. I have no idea whether my opponents will charge the devourergaunts, or let the 3+ cover save by because the rest of my army assualts.....
