Somebody at my store said that they changed the rules so that you dont need permission to use special characters anymore. Is this true????

Most new codicies don't need you to ask. Old ones still do though.
I live in your eyes
I would always ask your opponent when using one anyway.
Even ones like old one eye that dont count as a SC
Thats bs btw...Old One Eye has like 4 wounds and regenerates every turn, and costs like 150 (?).
I hate special charecters. Some have so many little rules that there almost impossible to beat, especially ina small game. I would only expect to be playing the leader of a chapter ( SM ) in like bigass 4000+ pts battle not 1000 pts. I think the opponent should always be asked.
yeah i agree that you sould ask the other first. that reminds me of a time i tricked a ork player to buy Gazkull guy and he spent the money and since noone had a Special charectors he couldn't use.
Hes a badass looking model though, I know an Ork player who just uses him as a tooled up Warlord, not the special character.
Yeah you should still ask, it's kind of rude like not informing the other player you've filled the entire board with booby traps, and ambushes.
You can't move the furniture anymore
And I'm not gonna trip and fall

I'll never forget the first time I played against a special character. It was some SM guy with a jet pack, and I didn't know it was a SC ( it was a pick up game with no prepared army list ). He ended up carving up my entire Eldar army ( at the time I was going to win because I was ripping him a new a-hole ). Anyway I ended up losing, it was very cheesy, and has produced a deep hatred for using special characters.
i kinda dont like special characters, because they dont allow for any imagination. you can customize them or anything, they have the same wargear for every battle.
i wish that they could make special characters slightly customizable.
most special character models are kikk ass though, like ahriman and typhus and marneus calgar!
i personally dont like using special characters. it's sorta messed up when one of them dies becuz of sum stupid death....like gettin trapped in a burning tank or gettin run over while trying 2 shoot down a tank about to run him over or sumthing like that
