Just wondering. It seems that people say that others go to certain armies because of their power. I want to try to prove them wrong.
For instance, did you choose Eldar because they have great options or that you liked the fluff?
I chose my Space Marines because they were the opposite of my Brother's Chaos Space Marines.
And if you want put down why you chose your second army?
Me, I like the Eldar fluff.
Fantasy and 40k players alike are welcome to post.

My first army I did was Black Templars. I saw them in the 3rd edition SM Codex and fell in love with the paint scheme, mind you this was pre-codex armageddon.
My second army was Word Bearers because they were the chaos equivilant of the Black Templars and I like the idea of having 145 daemonettes if I really wanted to.
Xbox Gamertag: x Helbrecht x
I liked Necrons because they are a somewhat rarer army. I like their fluff and thay reltively cheap money-wise
My first army was dark eldar, because they were the ones that came with the third edition starter set and my brother wanted to play as marines.
My second army was Orks, cause you can do so much with them and still have a blast even if you don't win.
Of the eight armies I currently own (eight years and ebay help a lot, as does a discount for working at GW) I play them all for the fluff and fun (both conversion wise and gaming wise.) Not about being competative or winning to me, so that just leaves having fun and being a pain for some...
(I was gonna post all eight of my armies, but that would be rude.)
Take my love, take my land, take me to where I cannot stand; I don't care I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me.

ok, i did black tempars because i collected them in 3rd edition, i cant remember why i started to collect them in the first place, i think it was because i thought they were easy to paint. (wrong)
eldar, well... eldar are awsome. eldar has the best fluff i think. and there models are awsome too.
I just love the idea of blood crazed maniacs sprinting across a battlefield hacking up their enemy into small pieces
Skaven; because they're very much like orcs+goblins, win or lose you're guarenteed to have a laugh (especially the way i play them, and my dice rolls)
Dark Elves: They're the most evil race in the whole of fantasy, the fluff is fantastic, the models are fantastic and the sheer range of tactics and skill you need to be able to win with them makes winning all that sweeter.
Night Goblins: Because i'm getting 2 battle for skull pass box sets worth of them, so might as well flesh it out to 1000-1500pts
Khorne; I'm not a massive fan of 40k, so i went with a quite basic army that still allows me to have a lot of fun.
Sisters Of Battle; I love the models, the fluff, and there's something refreshing about an all metal army in the modern GW days of 99% plastics.
Redemptionists; there's a necromunda campaign over the autumn, i saw the new models, though to myself "religious crazy people with chainsaws..." and was sold.
I collect Ultramarines because I saw someone playing and I fell in love with the models, colours and chapter master-Marneus Calgar
My second army is the Exiles because the Exiles are the good necrons and they are cool because they have things like serpents powers - can not be seen in terrain and powerful in close combat.
I have necrons because originally my friends were going to play Fantasy and i really liked tomb kings ... We were about to get fantasy when our club only plays 40k so we went with that. Also 2 of my friends already had some 40k so it seemed logical. Well i didnt know much about 40k and necrons basically look the same as tomb kings so i went with them. I was already hyped up on the whole undead living skeleton thing and the necrons were the same. Happy with my decision now i must say
My second army (havent finished necrons yet) will be tau. They look cool, cool fluff, cool rules and tactics. I just like them
I started playing Chaos because I saw a Chaos Terminator model and loved it. As I got into the game I started to really enjoy playing the bad guys, and though I've dabbled in about every other army, I've been steadily playing Chaos for about 10 years now!
I think I'm going to start Eldar in ernest because I love the new War Walker models. So, yet again, it was the models that convinced me.
