Well, I've know several people who've lost their models and I hate that so I am putting this out there as an awareness thing. One instance involved his car being broken into to grab what would seem to the lowly criminal passer-by as "gun cases", but really had models in them. Yeah they are cheap, but store those in the trunk because people like guns. Second, is keeping them in your car while you do an errand. If its a bad area and its a nice car, pick another store because either someone will grab your stuff or your car. Another time involved identical case getting picked up and taken. Put a mark on it that shows its yours. I hate seeing this happen, so guys and girls, don't let this happen to you.
If people leave their cases in their cars without covering them up, or not in the boot, then...well thats kinda like an invite I guess.
Marking your own cases is pretty much common sense really. Some of mine in the past have had LoS strips on the front of them.
Though now I only have the one main case, and thats got a slip of paper with my name on it as well as my number in case it gets lost. (Though putting your number on things is down to the owner of the case really)
CC will never lose his metal case though. XD http://www.librarium-online.com/lome...s/IMGP0375.jpg

20kg? I am curious, what do you use?
Me, I never leave my case in my car, it's always in my room, or with me at the shop, and I know which one is mine, because it is the one that has bulging front pockets filled with dice cubes and rulers and the like.

Other good advice on carrying cases is always making sure the hasps are closed before trying to walk off with it... :shifty:
Also, if you're travelling abroad by plane and checking your case in as ordinary luggage, do remember to secure the thing with plenty of duct tape before handing it over to the ungentle hands of airport luggage transportation - there's a horror story circulating in my local GW about a guy going to Games Day in the UK with 3,000 points of figures who hadn't secured his carrying case properly, and at the conveyor belt waiting for his luggage to be returned he suddenly saw first one, then several more figures in various states of disassembly roll past - no carrying case, just the figures... ouch.
And finally, a piece of advice based on painful personal experience: if you're moving and getting your parents to help you with the heavy furniture, make sure that all your figures are well out of the way. Clumsy parent + very heavy book case + box containing 1,000 points of Grey Knights and 2,000 points of Necrons = complete and utter disaster.

Well, Toastee, if you have your carrying case with your avatar on it, I'm sure no one would even dare thunk of taking it.Originally Posted by Toastee

I don't own one, but the GW case looks pretty standard to me. Get some foam trays, get another type of carrying case, and it'll be the same thing, I guess.
