Say what U voted and why.....(Sry to those marine players , not enough room)
I say Grey Knight
15 pts marine....
2 pts +2 str,
5 pts special rules,
1 pt weapon skill +1,
2 pts storm bolter...
tada! 25!!!
great fire power....
(hehe 100% cuz i posted 1st!
GREY KNIGHTS RULE!
My vote goes out to the Chaos Space Marine, due to the great flexabilty that they have thanks to vet skills and chaos god marks, allowing them to fill any roll that the chaos general needs. A strong, solid, core unit.
i think necrons because of wbb.

it has to be grey knights, they get the incerator, the storm bolter and those beasty CC weapons
less hate more kittens
Fire warrior, hands down.
for a measly 10 points, you get a str 5 range 30" weapon. Decent armor saves, you just have to avoid CC like the plague.
Haemonculus Coven Dark Eldar
My vote goes to the grey knights because of reasons already stated above. Chaos comes a tight second.
Chaos space marine. Most versatile of them all (bolter/bolt pistol, mark, veteran skills), and a lot cheaper than the GK.

But what of the midgets!?

The Imperial Guardsman is definitely the best basic troops choice in the game. For a measly little 6 points you get tons of cannon fodder with straight line, basic stats which aren't all that bad. Heck, you get three of them for the cost of 1 Space Marine and 4 for the cost of one GK.
Yeah, their armor sucks and their flashlight aint the best, but when one dies, you don't go crying home to mommy.
I've voted for SM/CSM because they are both one of the most tacticaly flexable troop type there is. I agree with what's been said about the CSM ie marks, vet skills, bolters,ccw/bolt pistols.
But also it's the fact they can be tailored to do almost any job you want, you want them to assault and hold an objetcive who will be best to hold it? Someone with a decent save, T and something that allows them to rapid fire. I mean come on not much can whether a storm of 20 odd bolter hits at close range and maybe a plasma gun/flamer or a heavy weapon etc.
They can also turn the tide in combat and get access to a quick mode of transport ie Rhino or Razorback. They are great for creating a firebase and devastating at close range, no to meantion that they fire until ready to assault and even the most basic marine unit can handle themselves in combat.
Also lots of other cores are nowhere near as good, I think the GK aren't as good unless they are in combat. Here they should easily be able to win their pts back (at their cost you really want your pts worth) but other than that I don't think their shooting is quite as good. And others aren't quite as flexable, most are good a a couple of jobs but not the rest.
I voted for Guardians. Consider this..Starcannon that can move and still fire. About 40 shots ( at BS4 if Black Guardians ) and a Warlock who can give them a 5+(I), which is like the best thing you could give them. Relatively cheap and effective.
