Welcome to Librarium Online!
During our clubs prep for a tourny in February, we came across an oddity.
While we were placing a bits order we found that some of our nurgle marines "don't exist".
Yet, they were bought at a GW store. Even more curious, they don't exist in ebay-space or in any classic/limited range I can find.
I even checked the Stuff of Legends site and found no trace.
These are the offending models:
One of the strange things about these bits is that they required the Chaos marine sprue to assemble. The guns, arms and head are all part of the torso (1 solid piece). But you must attach the back-part of the torso and the legs to complete the model.
The GW trolls deny their existence. This makes sense, as the bit required would prevent you from buying MORE bits. The other cool thing is that they come with a flamer, a nurgle flamer, which is very cool. And the shoulder pads don't seem to exist either, they're not moulded onto the shoulder, they're swapable.
We'd greatly like to track down these models, and hopefully get some more (wishful thinking, I know).
But, more importantly, I would like to prove that these models exist.
Any help identifying these mystery models would be appreciated.
You'll find it happens a lot.
There's an incredible Noise Marine model
He's in Mark 8 armour, with a slaaneshi sign across his chest and great big X Japan hair.
He's got a kickass electric guitar and has modified his army boots to rockstar boots.
Absolutely beautiful sculpting.. yet not available in the classic ranges any more.. some didn't make it...
Damn shame considering how boring in comparison the modern ones look...
Yeah, but these seem like a strange thing to remove.
Why would they remove the only nurgle flamer and nurgle melta (didn't get a pic of that one) available. That seems a bit odd, even by GW standards, unit specific bits are always hotly sought by converters and fluff-lovers(ahem).
Either way, I'm trying to get a difinitive description so I can keep a good eye out for them.
I've narrowed their production down to sometime after 2001 and before 2004. As they're not available in the 2004 catalogue and they didn't exist until after 2001.
Looks like the blokes over at Warseer found em for me.
They're appear to be located ONLY in the online store here - Death Guard Havoc models just scroll down a little. I wouldn't have thought to call them "havocs" as I always associate that with heavy weapons. meh.
To do a search for them you have to type "death and guard" and they come up.
Thanks for the help guys.
The reason several models that have been produced and are not avaible anymore (such as that noise marine) is often because the molds to make them have eitehr been lost, damaged beyound repair or have been scratched out completely.
For example, teh old molds for Chaos Rhinos and Dreadnoughts for Epic will not be made availbe at the re-release of Chaos for Epic because their molds have been lost.
Yeah, the ol' Death Guard havocs. Havn't seen them in the shop in ages.
