I'm just wondering if anyone has a free alternative to Army Builder that they can recommend.
I have version 2.x but the files are out of date and I can't find 2.x compatible files anywhere on the net. If you know where I can updated (especially for Tau) files that are 2.x that would be helpful as well. I tried to us ABCreate to update it myself, but that's just taking too long.
Thanks for any help.
There was a website that was prety much an army builder..I forget what it was called though..
The thread was on LO and about what you use to make army lists..try doing a search..it's on here somewhere.
PEN And Paper Is As Simple As It Gets....
I Find Using Microsoft Excel Works For Me.
There's an application I like called The Forge. Forget the Web site offhand, but it's free. Only trouble is, it's a GENERIC army builder, and you need to create templates to make army lists with. For example, you have to make a list of, say, all the necron units, save those in a template file, then use that to make your necron list. Maker of the software used to have templates available in a Yahoo group, but it might have been shut down. Dunno. Google the software to find his site. Nice app.
Website to The Forge -
Had it bookmarked, as I used to use it, but haven't had the need in a long time.
I agree with darthonox, pen and paper is just easy to use and if you are good with excel you can use a template that you create.
But as for a free army builder software, the only one I know of is the Forge (<-- link). As Canew said, you will need either download an army template or create your own.
I still prefer excel though.
Edit: Darn you Caluin! You got the link a mintue before I did.

Thanks for the ideas. After it was mentioned, I realized that I actually HAVE The Forge software, I just haven't used it in a while.
I just got the new lists. This will be great! I don't have the math skills  for doing by hand, nor the patience. Army contruction; here I come!!
