EDIT: bugger spelt the title wrong.
EDITEDIT: Thankyou whichever mod edited the title.
I'm just wondering how many people out there can remember the very 1st game of warhammer/40k they ever played? Care to share what happened with us?
I clearly remember my 1st game a bit under 2 years ago. 500 points against my friends guard. I think it was his 1st game too.
I tore him to shreds with a small squad of striking scorpions and 3 dark reapers. Neither of us were familiar with eldar so he wasted his shots on my banshees and avengers. He failed morale a fair bit and my scorpions just ripped through his army almost alone.
I can also remember Lt. Smash's 1st game. His tau ripped my eldar to pieces at 1k points before I could do any damage.
My little brothers 1st game, his marines were systematically dismantled by my eldar.
So I've got a few 1st game stories. Anyone else?

If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
The first game I ever played was a little over a year ago. I had been going to my gaming club a couple of weeks. Someone I know there let me play with his nids, and I played a 500 point game against an ill-suited Guard force, and wiped the floor with them
Although... I don't know whether he could have been going easy on me as I was a new player. *shrug*
My first ever game was at a games workshop back in the days when they let you play one on one games regulary. anywho it was somethng in between 750 - 1000 pts where i teamed up chaos with my freind and his chaos vs my other freinds tau. I took 12 beserkers, a unit of 8 marines and a lord while he tool a land raider and 12 beserkers. we had a major victory with my khorne beating a unit of kroot and some fire warriors while the land raider finished the game . Very fun first experience

my first game was a year ago and it was tau vs my marines
End: my dread destroyed a hammerhead
My opponent: a staff member
My first game.... It was 40k, I remember that. But against what.... 13th company Space Wolves I believe, Combat Patrol to. I beleive I was ripped to shreds by his Wulfen. I think I used only Guardians and a Farseer (didn't know about the 2 wound-limit in CP) and some Warlocks.
My first first game was played when me and some friends were very young and didn't quite understand everything from the rogue trader.
I think it involved Comissar Yarick on top of a polystyrene hill being D.cannoned out of existance.
There was a landraider and some marines too.. but that's about all i remember.
I think someone cried too.
This time around it was a 500 points crucifiction at hands of some witch hunters.
Not fun.. but i got my revenge

My first game was on one of the shop room boards upstairs(the gaming club part is in the basement). There are three seperate 4x4 tables and one 6x4 tables. Me and my friend ended up getting a tutorial for 40k. It was the Battle of Macragge set really. I decided to go Nids while my friend went Space Marines. I remember it well, i killed everything on the second turn while he killed nothing
A few guardians versus a bunch of crappy 2nd edition boxed orks, played on a school playing field at age 9.
I had one dice and carried the figures inside an empty yogurt pot. Eldar won, and I taught my mate how to speak like an ork
My very first game was back in 1989. I had some SM and some terminators and my friend had some terminators and harlequins. We talked some kid into playing orks. We cleared the board of orks. My first game when I came back to the game was 1500 points vs Necrons. The Necron player won. It was a good game. The game was also the first league I was in. The necron player if he won would clear the board. I was the only one he could not clear off the board.
Why use science and education when ignorance and superstition will work just as well.
I'mnot really sure if it was my first game, but the first I can remember was a game in a GW store back in second edition. I played Blood Angels against Orks, and I believe I won
I had a tactical squad and an assault squad, the store dude had a mod of orks, a mob of gretchen and a squad of storm boys. Back when jump packs were insanely dangerous, and ork ones more so... I don't think any jump-troops survived beyond turn 3, mainly by killing themselves in trees or exploding jump packs...
Fun fun fun
My first 3rd edition games were my Black Dragons (a very old version of them) against my friends chaos marines (BL with a khorne leaning), which were very fun, but very tacticaly unsound (every game had a fight between our HQs... chaos vs. marines, ouch), and very rule-iffy (plasma pistols in cc? awesome!)...
Ahh, good times.
My first 4th edition games were combat patrols in preparation for the first doubles tournie, I think the first one I played was against eldar. A small tactical squad in a rhino, and 5 assault marines vs 2 starcannon guardian squads and a starcannon vyper. Ouch.
But I've got better since then...
