After seeing the new Eldar codex and hearing about the new DA codex, do you think the Sales stat's are taken into account when they develop a new army list/codex?
Like.....hey Jervis, War Walkers are rotting on the shelves....we are going to invest the time and money in new plastic versions so we want them buffed in the new dex......etc....
I know, I know....GW is a corporation.....bla bla bla....
I was just wondering if the developer was given instructions that are model/sales oriented before they "develop". Is there a free hand or a guided hand....
Like the Typhoons. In my area they don't sell. With the new DA's dex they may start to sell because FA slots for RW are changing. Shotgun scouts are dumb and I've never seen them on the field in my meager 2 years of playing....now they are str 4....so they may have a bump in sales...etc
Maybe a dumb question. Just looking for opinions from gamers or feedback from people in "the know".
i wouuld imagine its a bit of both actually they would have targets to meet but also they would have some free riegn on the redsigns,
mor elikely it would be on a a level like
"Right war walkers arnt selling we want them to, so you will now make a new model and write up some fluff to make people buy them"

Wait... what?!I know, I know....GW is a corporation..
More likely that designers are briefed and given a long list of criteria they need to meet.
Takka n' Wakka's Dakka Attacka! 33W / 6L / 1D
Yeah...I almost imagine it like a meeting with a dry erase board and and sales figures....and of course the these are our 10 goals.....now design away....
What does "orly?" mean?
... only triumph could turn pooing his pants into a good thing..
Oh Really ?
but the thing is, what i've seen on new releases is that if a unit has the potentional to be popular (cool concept, good model, instresting fluff) then there might be a little better rules to back them up.
I've got nothing.
