Take a 15-man Blood Claws squad with 3 Powerfists = 246 pts
Take a 11 Man Zerk Squad with Chainaxes, Aspiring Champ with BP+Powerfist
On the charge the Blood Claws get 48 attacks that hit on 4+ wound on 4+ with 3+ save and 12 Powerfist attacks that hit on 4+, wound on 2+ = 9 dead Zerks.
On the charge Zerks get 44 attacks that hit on 3+ wound on 4+ with 4+ save = 11/3 dead.
Aspiring Champ has 5 attacks = 12.5/6 dead. Total = 6 dead Blood Claws.
As you can see, the Blood Claws seem to have a huge advantage. What do you think?
I did the whole math (well...i made my self programmed close combat calculator do it)
If the blood claws charge, then they win, with 4.1 own models left.
If the 'zerks charge, then the zerks win, with 5.8 own models left.
If no-one charges, then the 'zerks win, with 4.2 own models left.
Did you include powerfists in the calculation and equal pts worth?
i'd go for BC they excellent in CC, Have to go for the brother marines.
Fear The Wrath Of The ANZAC Clan
Yes, i did include the power fists. In my calculation 12 normal blood claws and 3 of them with p-fists fought against 11 'zerks and one aspiring champ with p-fist.
Not to be pedantic for the hell of it but the pts don't add up:
12 BC = 168pts
3 Powerfists = 36pts
Total = 204pts
11 Zerks with Chainaxe = 220
AC with Powerfist = 19+13+15 = 47
Total = 267pts
If you're counting equal models then Zerks are better obviously but I'm referring to pts efficiency. To make it fair you would have to take away 3 Zerks so it's actually 8 Zerks + AC vs 12 BC i.e. 204 pts vs 207pts.
Could you calculate that? I don't have a prog so this is just head math and intuition.
Sorry, i wasn't too clear in my previous post. In my simulation there weren's 12 blood claws and three of them with power fists, but 12 normal blood claws plus three blood claws with power fists, so there were 15 blood claws in total (vs 12 'zerks).
Anyway, i'll do it again with the numbers from your above post:
'zerks win, 1.17 own survivors
BC win, 4.6 survivors
'zerks win, 3.3 survivors.
If you're interested, then i could send you that close combat calculator - just send me a PM with your email.
The program itself is an applet, it's absolutely harmless to your computer, but you need to have a java runtime environment installed on your computer (you probably got it by default with your browser software)
Hmm interesting. Have you done the math for BA and BT Tac squads perchance?
My gut feel is that Zerks aren't really the premier CC troops that most ppl think they are as they have to pay for what they get unlike the SM chapters.
Just tell me your email and i'll send you that program, then you can try all these things yourself.
Well after my first battle against S Wolves afew hours ago, and many bad memorys of Khorne, I lost both but I lost faster to Khorne. BTW both forces had mainly the same equipment. In a way.
45 Bloodclaws, seriously. . .
