Thanks to an unexpected windfall I have around a £100 earmarked for
my hobby burning a hole in my pocket.
Granted this don’t sound like much but last month I just
bought a 1700pt nid army for £120 ( on eBay all new and inboxes ) which im still putting together.
I have yet ever to complete a whole army so I decided that the only I ever will was to buy all the models for my army, codex, paints and everything else I will need in one go. So far this has worked well, I am 2 ‘fex’s away from a totally constructed but unpainted army.
But already im asking myself what next ?
I have a few options,
1) Add more to my nids and get them up to a 2000pts army.
2) Completed my long abandoned Tau army
3) Start on a space marine army
4) Try my hand at warhammer?! ( maybe skaven or a demon army )
5) Spend the money on my girlfriend.
Any ideas ??
And when you buy her something nice you got an excuse to spend money later on when you've finished your Nidz ('but honey, i bought you that crystal, diamond incrusted tooth pick, surely i can spend some money on myself now?!")

I would also go for option 5...
Buying something for your gf is always a nice thing to do
"I could calculate your chance of survival, but you won't like it."
"Shut up! Sit your ass down in that chair and DRINK YOUR GODDAMN TEA!" - Cid FFVII
I find it amusing that option 5 could almost be perceived as an afterthought.
Given that you're still putting the Nids together, I'd say option 5 is probably the way to go. Treat your lady well, paint your Tyranids, then expand. You don't want to end up with tons of unpainted figures. You also don't want to end up dumped, though this consequence is very secondary to the unpainted figures.
HA HA HA !
i knew i should never i said number 5 !
but in truth anna ( my girlfriend ) already sucks enough
money out of me, so this money is meant to be spent on me !
I am leaning towards finshing off my Tau. I already have 5 battle suits and
a sqaud of fire warriors and a 20 strong kroot squad.
But i hear lots of good things about the new warhammer that i would really
like to give that a go, i just dont know.
To quote the comedian Lucky Louie
"You are a man you can spend you money on anything you God well please"
That being said if you spend it all on toy soilders you will need find a new girlfriend whcih is way more expensive than upkeep on an existing one.
I say buy something nice and special for your Nid Army like a Forge World or Battle Wagon bit (a bit not a kit) or some really cool guy you really want with say less than half the money.
Then spend a good portion of the money on something random and really nice for your girl. Flowers, choclates, a DVD she really wants. And here is the kicker.
TELL HER "I got this extra money and wanted to use it to make you happy"
then she wont care you spent a bunch on your never complete army of toy soldiers that is taking up the apartment and gettign in the way of everything, blah blah blah. (as you can see I hear this a lot)
If you build a man a fire he will be warm for a night. If you set a man on fire he will be warm the rest of his life.
I say why not pull a homer simpson. Buy something you like and give it to her (like ow some warhammer stuff). When she looses interest in your "present" she will most likely give it to you to use. But if she dosnt then you can egg her to go buy some warhammer models. Nothing like a girlfriend who plays warhammer .
Win win either way.
In the rule book, on page 5, it says:
"The most important rule about playing games of Warhammer 40K is to have fun!"
Ignoring option five, I say give warhammer fantasy a whirl. I know it's considered a swearword among 40k players but there is a reason you've heard good things about it. Plus, with the release of the 7th edition armies there's never been a better time to start!
