Ok im a new user and i have a question that may have been asked a million times before this but i need to hear it for myself from you guys i am getting the forge wordl bloodthirster for my birthday and i need to know is he worth getting.
And sorry i spelled world rong my bad
Good question. Model wise you made an excellent choice: the forgeworld Greater Daemons are far better than the normal GW ones, and the Bloodthirster is one of the most imposing models available.
From a gaming point of view it's a matter of taste. Some people think they're great, and a Bloodthirster can be an unstoppable force in combat with a little luck and good placement. I don't like Greater Daemons, I prefer massed marines to overwhelm the foe. Of course being an Alpha Legion player I can't use Greater Daemons. As I said it's all relative to your playing style, try it out and if the Bloodthirster doesn't work out for you at least you have a sweet centerpiece/display model for your army.
Useful LO tip No. 1: For when you make those annoying speeling errors there's a little button in the lower right-hand corner that allows you to edit a post. Very useful.

I came, I saw, I got a different type of Leman Russ.

Rules for grenades are on page 72 of the rulebook.
Ok thnx for that but keep them coming i still ned to know more and i would like to hear some more peoples opinion
you also spelt wrong wrong in your second post, but hey, who's checking!
The forge world model is actually Ang'rath the Unbound (or something close to that)
He is worth quite a lot of points. To be precise, 88.8% of your points in a 1000pt game would go to him. Something about Khorne's number. And the model is VERY big. I assume you would've seen it on the net. I have his rules in Imperial Armour Update 2005 though they should also be in later editions of IAU.
As sithjack said, if you are getting it for gaming, then you can either use it as a normal bloodthirster (though the rules are not quite up to the standard of the model) or you can try and use the forgeworld rules, in which case you will dominate games with him because the stats are amazing.
Or for the painting/modelling side of it, it is one of the best models going. Amazing detail, and fantastic size! I reckon it would be one fo the best models you could get for your birthday!
But I call to God, and the LORD saves me.
Forge world greater deamons kick booty the models are excellent and the rules terrifying i'd go for it.
Equipped with the latest XV25 Stealth Armour these troops are the 'love wolves' of the Tau army, operating independently of other formations.
This cock up is bought to you by GW Australia.
Thnx guys that realy clears it up for me however i still need to know a little more.
WOW i presume you have some really nice parents. Or your really treating yourself.
Anyway, i would say that using Ang'rath the Unbound is up to taste. Until 3,000 point battles i wouldn't use him, he has great stats but he still isn't better than alot more models.
It will also be a real bitch to paint, and carry around as your going to need some specialized foam and a sports bag to get it to a game in one peace. I would go with a chaos titan over Ang'rath but its down to personal preference. But you can take apart a titan, its simpler to paint and will get used more often. Its is also still amazingly deadly for dropping serious weaponry all over the place and will dominate a megabattle.
As you can see i am a titan fan.
