It's a piece of wargear. It works like any other piece of wargear. You give it to someone who can buy it, as per the rules in the codex.

Deamonhunters has lots of wargear, psychic powers and rules that are good against Chaos and deamons. But if you have Grey Knights then deamons(not deamon princes or greater demons) have the sustained assault rule

Damonhosts. They are usable in Space Marine Armies (namely mine) for a mere 250 points (counting the compulsory Inquisitor (Lord, in my case)). Strength 6, D6 Attacks, 4 wounds and a different psychic power every turn! Dangerous for both sides, but at least they are under your control.

Dude, Daemonhunters are amazing. they really only have two problems i can think of. 1. they are pretty slow. they get no fast attack options except to teleport and no one is going to have nine squads of grey knights in his army. 2. the grey knights are amazing but they are not specialized. they can do just about anything on the battlefield, but are not able to do anything better than anyone else. they are basically the jack of all trades but master of none.

I shall cast down the Dark Gods, the Star Gods shall be consumed just as they consumed their brothers. Those who fell shall be redeemed, those who remained pure shall be rewarded. The Imperium shall regain its power and the Dark Age of Technology will seem like nothing. For I am the Numen and I am coming

I don't mean to diss you, but I have to disagree. In close combat, the regular GK hits on 3+ and wounds on 2+. This is WAY better than any regular troop choice you get. They are slow and expensive, but kick A@£ in CC Just my opinion

it's cool people disagree with me. i have to disagree. grey knights nemisis force weapons don't count as power weapons. besides, i've had a lot of them gunned down getting to the cc. now, i will admit, in cc they are amazing, the problem is that people will avoid getting into cc like a plague.

It seems to me that the Grey Knights are most lacking in anti-armour and anti-materiel power. As it has been noted, they kick arse in Cc. Likewise, with every model toting a stormbolter, they're certainly not lacking on small-arms fire. However, if you want to kill tanks, you either have to rely on Dreadnaughts (which are very crunchy, as vehicles go) or Land Raiders (which are very expensive, as anything goes). They have no squad las-cannons or missile launchers; no Assault Cannons for their Terminators (which, with the new rules, are actually quite good at killing vehicles). Basically, you'd better hope you take out their tank before they take out yours, or you're basically stuck with 100-200 points of enemy model that you're pretty much never going to kill.

i think no one has addressed this problem yet, so i will. Grey Knights are amazing in cc, the problem is getting into cc. any experienced general will know to just move troops out of the way. although they pack a mean punch in range, they just aren't as powerful as other armies. another problem is that you cannot transport them, only in land raiders and whose going to spend all his points on landraiders.

my best bet would be teleportation, but this is assuming you are not a pure GK army (as in, u throw in 2 squads of IST's on rhinos or chimeras and warping in via tele beacons). the problem is that those storm troopers have to pack enuf heat to ensure that they're targeted over the grey knights (if only they could bloody move on DS turn...)

if you are a pure GK, than chances are you can't afford a fast squad amongst your other point gobbers, so yeah, they wind up either blindly charging to nearby groups or holding back until they get their chance to charge...

oh, question. when charging, thx to true grit, wouldn't that only give each GK one attack instead of two? i personally think they'd be exempt for that horrendous side effect, due to the gun being practically strapped on to the back of their hand
