An entire squad of Terminators? Full squads are 10 men strong, and you only get 7 shots. Even if you're talking about a typically smaller squad, not all shots will hit, neither of the weapons are ap2, and even if the assault cannon rolls a 6 to hit the terminator will still get his invulnerable save.

For me, the real appeal of the Daemonhunters is the fluff and models. Grey Knight models are great, and the Kasrkin Stormtroopers that most people use for their Inquisitorial Stormies are also great models, some of my favourites.
But even better is their story/background. Look at the Grey Knights especially. Here you have a band of humanity's finest. They are trained in the sacred weapons of their Chapter, and use them with inhuman skill. Their wills shall never falter. Even when they look hell itself in the face, they stand resolute against the daemonic enemies of the Emperor. They shall protect mankind from the most vile threats that have ever existed, and yet, no one shall know of their great deeds but them.

Pretty great background if you ask me.

Then you have the Inquisition. Incredibly driven, but narrow-minded, people who would destroy billions of lives to protect countless more.

Somehow everyone assumes that daemonhunters are an army of grey knights, but they forget that darker things lurk in the warp, and can fight on your battletop. Yes, you guessed it. I'm talking about daemonhosts...

For me the daemonhunters are such a unique army because they can be played in so many different ways. On some days I want to use my pure grey knights, and some times I like to have a very mobile and shooty radical army, with inquisitors and daemonhosts added for combat capability. This is what makes this army so great. The possibilities.

By the way: In a grey knights heavy force I take a dread with lascannons and missile launcher to destroy that really harmful enemy vehicle or two. I ignore less important vehicles, since the dread is usually destroyed by the end of the game, and because most of my army is already in cc by turn 4.
It is dangerous to be right when the government is wrong.

Who are you to judge what is sane and what is not??

My only problem is that the codex almost forces you to build two separate armies if you want to play both Grey Knights and Radical. As soon as you include a Daemonhost, 50% of your options, including most of your Heavy Support and your only Fast Attack option are gone. That leaves you with troops and a bunch of Elites (but you only have 3 slots, and the Elites are all quite expensive). You could always build a list with Stormtroopers supported by Grey Knights, I suppose, but your points disappear very quickly (I've had more success with pure GK than mixed, because it feels like Stormies take away points that could be used for more GK. I use a troops heavy list. 34 models in 1500 points!)

    Forget GKs

Storm troopers are great. They can take rhinos if they need to move and chimearas if they need mroe anti infantry firepower. There are 2 great official models for them and endless opertunities to convert your own. STs are cheap bu survivable so make great cannon fodder. Even though they suck in CC you have GKs to do that for you. They have bs4 which is excellent for such cheap models. You cane easily create a squad that will own tanks with meltaguns and bombs in a rhino or own marines cheaply with many plasma weapons.

=I= are fun to convert, ahve cool powers and ae very versitile.
