I'm not saying he's useless, only that I've never seen him do anything worthwhile other than scaring your opponent a bit.
However, I don't want to underestimate his value.. His strength, I believe, is not really in what he, personally can kill, but the synergy he can have with other units (i.e. taking out heavy weapons reduces the threat to your troops/tanks in that area significantly.)
Everyone badmouths the Culexus.. I think fluffwise they're the best temple, and he has some funky rules. It would just be nice if there was ever a reason to use one in a game.
The one thing it seems to do well (in proxy, I'll admit..) is wipe the floor with tyranid warriors. Even there, though, he's a bit fragile to justify the mammoth points cost.
The Mini Close Combat God called the eversor is an animal.
I used an eversor last night against Renegade Space Marines and not only did he lock up 2 tactical squads and a Captain etc. but he killed them all single handidly costing my opponent 300 pts plus.
It was cool.
I played a battle yesterday, me and necron against taus/orks (500 each). The roll for mission ended up allowing my team to choose, and we went for cleanse. In the roll for mission rules we came up with alpha.
And I had no idea what to do with my eversor. I was originally hoping to infiltrate him close to the tau, but the orks ended up forming a huge wall in front of them. What do you guys do with your assassins when they're not allowed to infiltrate?
you pick a secondary target and pitch him into them. If you can't infiltrate at all, thats not so horrible with an Eversor since his 12 inch assault range allows him to get into someone, and even the lowest point cost squad should be worth close to his points value.
The Culexus COULD be useful if your opponent ACTUALLY used Daemons. Forcing them to test for Instability at Ld 7 is always a nasty item...

The Eversor is a good weapon against Orks because he's immune to their Choppas' save lowering effect. I personally would always use an Eversor against Troops, including Ork Boyz.I played a battle yesterday, me and necron against taus/orks (500 each). If you cannot, for some reason, get the Eversor into a squad of Troops, run him through cover (or far enough back that shooting him at least requires a Ld test) to another target. I wouldn't bother wasting him against vehicles unless that's all he has as targets, or against HQ/Elite units, since they tend to have a lot more strikeback power.

pistols are not "rapid fire" weapons, they are classed as "pistol" weapons.Originally Posted by Emp.
the eversor always counts as stationary when firing his pistol, so he can move and shoot twice.
however (unfortunatly) the BGB states that you can move and fire once with pistol and then assault, but if you stay stationary and fire twice, you cannont assasult
so really, that rule for the Eversor is now worth nothing in 4ed.
but despite it all, my DHs wont leave home with out their trusty CC-mini-Monster![]()

Megalo, I did crash into an ork squad-the initial charge was nice, but the next turn I was surrounded by orks (literally). Though I did manage to take down two more that turn, when you have 27 attacks coming at you...welll he bit the dust:/
Though he did kill 3 more orks in the melt down![]()
