This is my second real go at an army from the new book. The opponents will mainly be Tzeentch, Dark Elves, Dwarves and Empire
Vambraces of Defence
Barded Steed, Dragon Armour and shield
Armour of Caledor
Amulet of Fire
2x Dispel Scroll
20 Spearmen (205)
15 White Lions (280)
Banner of Arcane Protection
5 Dragon Princes (220)
Banner and Drakemaster
Banner of Ellyrion, Amulet of light
Chariot x 2
Eagle Claw Bolt thrower x2
Great Eagle x2
Casting dice: 3
Dispel dice: 3 + 2 scrolls
That is 1844 points, the other 150 odd I will probably change to suit the opponent but was thinking
Tzeentch: another mage with Sigil of Asuryan
The rest: another cavalry unit
The Prince is for chariot killing and better off being a noble on an eagle except that as he is he can charge a single rank of cavalry in the front and win about 60% of the time. I know its a gamble but Chaos Knights slaughter troops and then combat res breaks the general.
Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated.
I think you have 1 rare to many. Remember that, even though our unit limits have changed, all of the 2 for 1 deals on slots have gone as well.
With now 200pts to spend, I would suggest the following:
Against Tzeentch get a lvl 1 mage with the Annulyian crystal and 3 more White Lions.
Against anyone else, A unit of 6 Silver Helms with musician and full armour + 3 more White Lions.
Hope this helps
New LOChat functions now avaliable.

As for your mage, I have found that a level 2 with the jewel of the dusk and a dispel scroll is awesome for anti-magic when you use High Magic.
This means you can still try to cast Shield of Saphery on a unit, then you can cast drain magic and make all his spells much harder to do.
"I am the architect of fate!"
I understand the theory but without other mages to back him up will they really let the spells off. Opponents seem to almost always have 1 scroll and 4 dispel dice (at least). That is more than enough to neutralise the magic phase if you aren't magic heavyish. As for your mage, I have found that a level 2 with the jewel of the dusk and a dispel scroll is awesome for anti-magic when you use High Magic.
Thanks for your help anyway I will bear that in mind however, as a more offensive build.
