Hi all, i havent played warhammer that often and im just getting back into it. Could you please give me some advice on this army for a tourny im going into.
Prince- Armour of Caledor, GW, Sacred incense, talismen of Loec
2 Mages- Both lvl2 one with dispell scroll and jewel of dusk, other with silver wand and ring of fury
20x Spearmen- Full Command
18x Swordmasters- Full Command, Battle Banner
15x Pheonix Guard- Full Command, Banner of Sorcery
3x Bolt Throwers
2x Standard Chariots
This army seems small when i look at it but i guess all elf units cost high points. I put my prince with my sword masters so they won't get shot up as easily and i have good magic with 8-10 dice with only 2 mages and i use my chariots for flanking. I have a bit of shooting so its basically a all rounded army because i dont know who im playing. Could you guys please give me some feed back.
With the spare points you could add a unit of 6 DP with champ, an eagle and another spearman.
- Your SM unit is a bit big. May I suggest dropping 4 of them leaving them 2X7, drop musician and banner. ( Isn't that banner illegal as it costs more than the unit can carry?) I can't see them need them though teh champion is great.
- Drop an RBT. They are almost never worth their points so I think 2 is a max.
Hope it helped.
5000p. High Elves
If you have 3 RBT you realy need to play quite defensively and slow your opponent up as much as possible to maximise the return on you 300pt investment and there are no units to do this in this list. I would go along with the previous advise and get some DP's for some mobility and hitting power. I would also lose the charriots, IMHO they will be eliminated by turn 2 by any competent opponents basic missile fire. Tournaments are particularly difficult for purely infantry army's and require that the army is dedicated to a particular role and specialise in it, you have a much better chance in a tournament with a more balanced list that contains all the best elements of the HE list, RBT, eagles, elite infantry and DP's in addition to your compulsory core choices. This is obviously only my oppinion so good luck and have fun!
