Welcome to Librarium Online!
The idea is to make it as cheesy as possible for a tourenment. This is my attempt but i dnt feel it is that cheesy i have gone with an attacking army. any suggestions would be great.
Prince, moon dragon, heavy armour, enchanted sheild, vambraces, amuet of fire, sword of might = 556 3+ re roll as, 4+ ward
Mage L1, dispell scroll x2 = 140
Noble BSB, great weapon, armour of caledor = 143 2+ as
Spearmen x 20 stand, mus = 195
Spearmen x 15 Stand, mus = 150
Dragon princes x 6 Full command = 255 Skeinsliver
Dragon princes x 6 standard = 220 warbanner
Swordmasters x 14 champ, mus = 238 gem of courage
Eagle x 2 = 100
The prince is only slightly cheesy and the rest of the list is quite balanced! Personally if i wanted a realy cheesy list i would take one of the brothers Tyrion or Teclis. If however you want to stay with the list that you have already got basicaly, you could drop the spearmen for two units of archers and get another unit of 7 SM with a champion and musician as a flanking unit. Cheesy lists can be fun but i dont know the rules for the tournament your entering, this is obviously only my oppinion have fun and good luck in the tournament.
I really don't think that this is a cheesy list at all, I don't think it is particularly effective either. It is fast but not phenomenally quick like Van Smallhousens, the problem is that it would come in waves, you have over half your points footslogging without proper support.
Mount the BSB and give him the Battle banner, heavy armour lance etc
That should make his unit of Dragon Princes unstoppable, make sure that you give the champion of the unit the Helm of Fortune, he can accept challenges with a 1+ rerollable save with confidence then, maybe give them the Banner of Ellyrion.
Change the spears to 2 units of archers.
Drop the swordmasters as well then take another unit of Dragon Princes, also a unit of Reavers I know they don't quite fit but I think they are important to intercept anybody who might stop you from marching. I think that I would also take some chariots, they shouldn't be shot at with the gigantic dragon target sucking fire away from them or vice versa.
Sorry if I was unnecessarily harsh, I don't think that combat is the way to go cheesy with Elves, they do magic much better. Have a look at Quannum's list or at Demandred's list, they are good trust me, I play with a similar list and it hasn't lost yet. It is very good and appears relatively balanced on the surface.
Ultimate cheese in 2000 points is
Take both ring of fury and ring of corin and the banner of sorcery on a unit of phoenix guard.
hay there no probs Allonairre all comments accepted with open arms no matter how harsh they are lol. i have been playing for about 8 months now and with the help i have got from this forum have been winning a hell of alot more. i want to go for a attacking list. i am fairly sure there are to be no named characters. the lists are all going to be cheesy as hell thats the main attraction. there are most likely going to be fairly heavy magic lists so i thought i would change it up. harsh comment away!!!
Prince, moon dragon, heavy armour, lance, encanted sheild, vambraces, amulet of fire, = 547
mage L2 = 175 dispell scroll x2
mage L1 = 140 Annuilen cystel
archers x 10 mus = 115
archers x 10 mus = 115
dragon prince x 5 stand = 170
dragon prince x 5 champ = 180 gem of courage
dragon prince x 5 stand, champ = 205 amulet of light
dragon prince x 5 = 150
eagle x 2 = 100
bolt thrower = 100
the way i see it archers with a mage in each sit on or round hill with bolt on it, offering fire support and magic defence from long range away from the fray. eagles hold a flank,
dragon on the other, princes up the middle try to break the line if the dnt they are toast.
should be fun
