So I got a battalion box and might be getting a dragonmage from a trade. Without buying too much more I was wondering if this is a good 750 point army.
Ring of Fury
Spearmen x 15
That way to get to 1000 I can use my 8 silverhelms as dragon princes and give my spearmen and archers a musician and only have to buy a giant eagle more than I'm getting.
Please in future, do not post points costs of units or individual models without upgrades. Many thanks - GN out

This list is actually quite nice. A bit ruthless to use a dragon at 750pts, but it is a competative list. Being able to punch out 7 PD and a Bound Spell a turn is nothing to be sniffed at.
The only thing I might suggest is not using the dragon. Get a Noble with Armour of Caledor, Great Weapon and Guardian Pheonix. Add 4 more spearmen, and put him in there. The only thing the is to add the remaining points in a Bolt Thrower and some cavalry.
Only a thought
Armor of Cal
19 spearmen FC
5 dragon princes FC
I don't know. I have now a hero that can't be killed, but no magic phase. It seems like I've turned defensive and lost all my mobility. I also don't see how I get 7 PD with my first list. I only count 4.
Well, the reckless rule allows you a 'free' power dice per spell cast, allowing you to cast 2 spells with 2 dice and 1 spell with 3, really freeing up your magic phase.
That is the reason the Dragon Mage is so effective.
